Remember When…

I remember… when Nintendo was the gaming system children played. Duck Hunt, Zelda, Mario Brothers, were the Fortnite of my day, where to watch a new release meant a trip outdoors to the local Blockbuster store
Computers, the internet, and cell phones were just beginning to take flight. Dogpile was the search engine and dial-up was everyone’s connection
Climbing trees and swimming holes was what children did to pass the time. Glued outside until the clock struck nine.
Parties in the parking lot of the local bowling alleys, dancing in the back of a redneck’s pick up truck and drinking 40s. A time when things were simpler and worries were amiss. When high school dances and your first kiss created feelings of true bliss.
Jared Leto and Leonardo DiCaprio were the posters on our walls. My So-Called Life was a number one hit show and Melissa Joan Hart was the original witch y’all.
Where Y2K would be the end of days. an Era of simplicity A different lifetime it seems to be.
