At The Care Center, writing and making art are important parts of our growth and learning. As we take the time to tell our stories and share our feelings and perspectives, we come to understand ourselves better. Sometimes the stories we tell are painful, other times joyful. Sometimes, we are surprised by what emerges when we express ourselves. We learn that we are more powerful than we may have thought we were. Always, we recognize that our creative work is valid, honest, and real.
This has been a year like no other. We attended school remotely until July, and then had classes both in person and at home. We did this all while managing our children’s needs and schooling, while worrying about our world, and the health of our families and friends. This year has not been easy, but here we are.
