Abstract The Bilateral filter is a popular non-linear filter used for image denoising , edgedetection, andtextureanalysis. However, it requires a large number of computations for each pixel, making it computationally intensive and challenging to implement in real time applications. 1.2 Problem Definition
The problem addressed in this Bilateral Filter VLSI Architecture for Real-Time Image Denoising is the high computational complexity and power consumption of the bilateral filter, which limits its use in real-time image processing applications. The Bilateral filter is a non-linear filter that requires a large number of computations to be performed for each pixel, which makes it computationally intensive on challenging to implement in real time applications. Additionally, the traditional software implementations of the Bilateral filter due to their incompatibility with hardware implementation high hardwarecomplexityandpowerconsumption.
