S E S O N U A R A P E U Q S E LO S O R T O A R A P , A R BASU H S A O R R T O S ' S TE ONE MAN R MAN’S E H T E O N A S I E R U S A E R T l reciclaje es uno de los valores más importantes que podemos enseñar a nuestros hijos. Cuidar del planeta es una responsabilidad de todos, pero sobre todo para que ellos, en el futuro, puedan seguir contribuyendo a esta labor. Por eso debemos educarles desde pequeños, ya sea en casa o las Unidades Educativas, y una de las formas más sencillas y entretenidas de hacerlo es con manualidades para niños con materiales reciclados, pero antes debemos enseñarles cómo se recicla.

1. PAPEL.
Para fabricar una tonelada de papel es necesario utilizar entre 10 y 15 árboles, 7800 kilovatios / hora de energía eléctrica y una gran cantidad de agua. Al reciclar el papel, se reducirá el corte de los árboles, se ahorrará energía eléctrica y agua. Además, estarás protegiendo a animales como los insectos y los pájaros, que dependen mucho de los árboles para vivir.

...EL 5 DE JUNIO ES EL DÍA ...THE 5TH OF JUNE IS MUNDIAL DEL MEDIO AMBIENTE? WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY?
E
l Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente fue establecido en 1972 por la Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas durante la apertura de la Conferencia de Estocolmo sobre el Medio Humano.El Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente es un evento anual que tiene como objetivo convertirse en el día más importante de acción positiva por el medio ambiente. Las actividades del Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente tienen lugar el 5 de junio. Es un evento en el que se realizan múltiples actividades como concentraciones en calles, conciertos ecológicos, ensayos y competencias de afiches en las escuelas; concursos de pintura, dibujo, poesía y cuentos, se plantan árboles, se hacen campañas de reciclaje, saneamiento y limpieza en las comunidades, se efectúan eventos para socializar conocimientos e informaciones, campañas ambientales en los medios de comunicación, entre otras muchas iniciativas a realizar Al celebrar el Día del Medio Ambiente recordamos la importancia de cuidar nuestro planeta y sobre todo, nos damos cuenta de que cada acción cuenta, así que unidos debemos celebrarlo!

orld Environment Day was established in 1972 by the General Assembly of the United Nations during the opening of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. World Environment Day is an annual event that aims to become the most important day to take positive action for the environment. The activities of World Environment Day take place on June 5th. For this event, multiple activities take place such as gatherings on the streets, ecological concerts, essay writing and poster competitions in the schools, painting, drawing, poetry or story writing contests. People plant trees. They organise recycling, sanitation and cleanup campaigns in their communities. They create events to share knowledge and information, environmental campaigns in the media, and many other initiatives are implemented. By celebrating World Environment Day, we remember the importance of taking care of our planet and, more than anything else, we realize that every action has meaning so we must celebrate it all together!

Viernes de Lectura Reading Friday P I odemos decir que la Lectura es el medio más eficaz para la adquisición de conocimientos ya que enriquecen nuestra visión de la realidad, intensifica nuestro pensamiento lógico, creativo y facilita la capacidad de expresión. Es por ello que dentro de las actividades que realizamos como Revista INTI con los niños y niñas, se aplica el fomento de la lectura, acorde a la edad que ellos tiene realizando dinámicas después de cada lectura, donde ellos puedan captar que leer es lanzarte a una aventura extraordinaria que nadie puede imaginar. En definitiva leer implica razonar, crear, soñar y convertirnos en seres cada vez más tolerantes y respetuosos y realizar la diferencia ante los demás, consiste en aprender a observar la sociedad desde un nuevo punto de vista mucho más objetivo, alejándonos de prejuicios e ideas contradictorias a la realidad. Ven y sé parte de esta aventura, junto con los niños y niñas Inti.
t could be said that reading is the most efficient way to acquire knowledge, as it enrichens our vision of reality, intensifies our logical and creative thinking, and increases our ability to express ourselves. This is why, within the activities we carry out with children such as INTI Magazine, we encourage age-appropriate reading. We play educational games after each reading session, so that they can discover that reading is an extraordinary adventure beyond what one can imagine. Reading involves reasoning, creating, dreaming, and becoming ever more tolerant and respectful beings. It also involves making a difference with others, learning to observe society from a new, more objective point of view, moving away from prejudice and ideas which are contradictory to reality. Come and be part of this adventure with the INTI children.

LEYENDAS ¿Dónde está la familia ratón?
Cuando guardaba mis cepillos vi una bola gris que saltaba de un lado a otro, pasando por las plantitas de la plaza hasta que desapareció, termine de guardar y me fui, ese día no me había ido bien, no gané mucho así que me fui a pie a mi casa. El otro día mientras lustraba vi dos bolitas grises, que como rayos se metieron debajo de un árbol, un perro curioso fue al árbol a molestar y no sabía qué hacer, lustrar o echar al perro. Por suerte el perro se fue y a mí me fue bien ese día, me fui temprano porque había mucha gente de la Alcaldía. Compré galletas y las dejé debajo del árbol. Al otro día la plaza estaba muy limpia y tenía nuevas plantitas, todo estaba nuevito y sin manchas, empecé a trabajar pero ya no veía bolitas grises, cuando fui a ver las galletas seguían debajo del árbol. A ratos me pregunto, ¿Dónde está la familia ratón? FIN
Where is the mouse family?
When I was putting away my brushes, I saw a grey ball that jumped from side to side, passing by the little plants in the plaza until it disappeared. I finished packing up my things and left. It hadn’t been a good day, and I had not earned very much so I walked home. Another day, while I was polishing boots, I saw two little grey balls. Fast as lightning, they ran under a tree. A curious dog went to the tree to bother them. I wasn’t sure what to do, continue polishing or go over and shoo the dog away. Luckily the dog went away. I did well that day, and I left early because there were lots of people from the mayor’s office. I bought some biscuits and left them under the tree. The next day, the plaza was very clean and had new little plants. Everything was nice and new, without stains or dirt. I started work but I couldn’t see little grey balls anymore. When I went over to look, the biscuits were still under the tree. Sometimes I ask myself, ‘Where is the mouse family? Comprando Buying zapatos para los shoes for Niños y las Niñas INTI INTI Kids U
A
na amiga de Inti que vive en Calgary, Canada que se llama Kenna Kizan, trabaja como gerente de oficina para Agile Recruiting. Kenna decidió recaudar dinero en su oficina para comprar zapatos nuevos para los niños y las niñas Inti. Ella horneó galletas (incluyendo galletas para perros) y otros productos; ofreció un almuerzo de sopa y tomó pedidos especiales todo a cambio de donaciones de sus compañeros de la oficina. Una vez que tenía el dinero, Karen, Maritza, Juana y Megan fueron a comprar los zapatos con los niños y niñas INTI.
friend of INTI living in Calgary, Canada; Kenna Kizan, works as the office manager for Agile Recruiting. Kenna undertook fundraising at her office to raise money to buy new shoes for the INTI kids. She baked cookies, dog biscuits, muffins and scones; hosted a soup lunch and took special baking requests all in exchange for donations from her office mates. Once the money was raised, Maritza, Karen, Juana and Megan took the children shoe shopping. Thank you, Kenna!

a Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT) de las Naciones Unidas declaro al 12 de junio como el día mundial contra el trabajo infantil con el propósito de hacer un llamado a las autoridades y la sociedad en general, para ver nuestra realidad actual, muchos niños y niñas hoy en día trabajan en muchos casos en situaciones desfavorables a su edad. La revista Inti hace un homenaje a las niñas y niños trabajadores de la ciudad de Sucre, un enfoque desde nuestra realidad es que cada día vemos niños y niñas trabajando, con la única ilusión de obtener o cubrir aquella necesidad que les atinge día a día, por que vienen de familias humildes que son de bajos recursos económicos que no tienen otra alternativa que trabajar, incluyendo a los más pequeños , sin embargo hay organizaciones que velan por el bienestar de estos niños haciendo un seguimiento para que sus derechos no sean vulnerados. Se realizó una pequeña entrevista a dos niños trabajadores de la plaza 25 de mayo de la ciudad de Sucre, para ver su punto de vista sobre el trabajo que realizan:

he International Labour Organization (ILO) of the UN declared the June 12th as the World Day Against Child Labour, with the aim of drawing attention to the authorities and to society in general, in order to show our current reality; many boys and girls in this day and age are working in unfavourable conditions for their age. INTI Magazine pays homage to the working boys and girls in the city of Sucre, a focus that comes from the reality of seeing working children every day, children with the only dream of obtaining or covering the cost of some day-to-day expenses, as these children come from poor families that have few economic resources, and therefore even the youngest children have no alternative to working. However, there are organizations that safeguard the wellbeing of these children, monitoring conditions to ensure that their rights are not being violated. A short interview was carried out with two children who work in Plaza 25 de Mayo (the main square in the city of Sucre), to see their point of view about the work that they do: www.inti-revista.org

Niño INTI de 10 Años, grado 4º básico Vive en la zona del Patacón con sus padres y sus cuatro hermanitos. Su madre vende semillitas en la plaza 25 de mayo mientras que el padre es de profesión albañil. El empezó a trabajar desde los cuatro años actualmente se dedica a vender las revistas Inti los días lunes, jueves, viernes y sábado, durante toda la semana vende aproximadamente diez revistas. Menciona que a veces piensa dejar de vender la revista porque no se vende y se gana poco y más aun cuando recibió maltrato.Los días martes y miércoles asiste al comedor porque le ayudan a hacer sus tareas. El dinero que gana le entrega a su madre para que compre verduras, en alguna ocasión se ahorra para comprarse ropa. Sin embargo también menciona que quisiera comprarse una bicicleta. Finalmente expresa que cuando crezca le gustaría ser un policía.
Niño INTI de 10 Años Es un niño que llego de una comunidad de habla quechua, por tal razón a veces le dificulta comunicarse en español, sumado a esto el niño no estudia porque llegó muy tarde a las inscripciones. Vive en la zona de Lajastambo con su madre, tres hermanitos y su abuela, su padre vive en Uyuni trabajando de albañil mientras que su madre vende pastillas. El menciona que empezó a trabajar vendiendo la revista inti hace algunos meses y los vende de lunes a viernes. Los días sábado y domingo lava autos en la plaza y sus alrededores. Por otra parte señala que el dinero que gana le entrega a su madre, y en algunas ocasiones lo guarda para comprarse ropa. Cuando se le preguntó que quisiera ser cuando crezca él dijo que no sabe, solo quiere estudiar. Sin embargo menciona que no le gustaría dejar de vender la revista porque le gusta.
INTI Kid, aged 10
INTI Kid, aged 10, 4th Grade He lives in the Patacón region with his parents and four little brothers. His mother sells seeds in 25 de Mayo square whilst his father is a bricklayer. He began to work when he was four years old and currently sells INTI Magazine on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. He usually sells about 10 magazines a week. He mentions that sometimes he thinks of stopping his work selling the magazine, particularly when he receives abuse, because the magazine doesn’t sell well, and he earns little money. The money that he does earn is given to his mother so that she can buy vegetables, and is sometimes saved to buy clothes. However, he also mentions that he would like to buy a bicycle. Finally, he tells us that when he grows up he would like to be a policeman.
He is a child that comes from a Quechua speaking community, and for that reason he finds it difficult to communicate in Spanish. Added to this is the fact that this child doesn’t study, as he arrived too late to enrol. He lives in the Lajastambo region with his mother, three little brothers, and his grandmother. His father lives in Uyuni working as a bricklayer, whilst his mother works selling sweets. He mentions that he began to work selling Inti magazine a few months ago, and he sells them from Monday to Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, he washes cars in and around the square. Once again, he points out that he gives the money he earns to his mother, and on some occasions saves it to buy clothes. When he was asked what he would like to be when he grew up, he said that he didn’t know, he just wanted to study. However, he did mention that doesn’t want to stop selling the magazine because he enjoys it.

Frente a esa realidad lo que hacemos es apoyarles para que no sigan malos pasos como la delincuencia, drogadicción, etc.” Por otra parte indica que existen muchas cosas que le gustaría que cambie en beneficio de los niños y niñas, el hecho de que la población no discrimine a los niños/as etiquetándoles de rebeldes o malcriados“Que la población no juzgue sin saber porqué es así ese niño o niña, porque muchas veces estos niños pueden tener diferentes problemas en sus casas. Por otra parte en sus escuelas también discriminan al ver a una madre muy humilde, pero cuando nosotros vamos a sus escuelas (de traje) nos tratan bien, esto debe cambiar” The position of the director of the MAIN CENTRE OF YOUNG WORKERS (CIMET) regarding child labour mentions the following: “I do not like that children work, however the situation of our country means that they work because many are from big families, poor families, often their fathers abandon them and this means that the children have to work to survive or to buy some kind of treat that their mother can’t buy for them. Facing this reality, what we do is to help them so that they don’t go down the wrong path of crime, drug addiction, etc.” On the other hand, she indicates that there are many things that she would like to change in order to benefit the children, for example, she would like the general population to not discriminate against the children, labelling them as rebellious or poorly raised. “May people not judge them without knowing why the child is like this because often these children have different problems in their homes. Morevoer, in their schools they also face discrimination when they are seen to have a very poor mother, but when we go to their schools in our suits they treat us well, this should change.”

Nos estamos alejando, del medio ambiente We Have que vivimos Distanced Ourselves from Our Environment Nuestra ciudad Sucre – Chuquisaca se caracteriza por la cultura y el arte de una ciudad pre colonial a nivel internacional que conserva más aun su arquitectura.
El cambio climático en nuestra ciudad se dejó notar y vivimos en medio de la pobreza, que al solo estar rodeados de un ambiente con fábricas y vehículos que emiten gases contaminantes, dañinos a nuestra salud, que es producto del calentamiento global y la perforación de la capa de ozono, que no solo afecta a Sucre – Bolivia sino también al mundo entero.
Our city, Sucre, is characterized as a pre-colonial city of culture and art on an international level that preserves its architecture above all else.
La contaminación también cuenta más aun con la basura que producimos o manejamos, sin saber bien cuál es la ubicación de ello depositando donde y como sea, sin embargo no nos damos cuenta que es la principal causa de las enfermedades que pueden causar a nuestros niños.
Climate change in our city is noticeable and we live in the midst of poverty; surrounded by factories and vehicles that emit pollutants that are harmful to our health. These pollutants contribute to global warming and destruction of the ozone layer, which not only affects Sucre, Bolivia but the whole world.
Estas causas que afecten a nuestra ciudad como la tala de árboles en nuestros municipios, la principal fuente que es el agua, el arreglo de nuestras calles, se hace notar a la destrucción del patrimonio que tiene. La esperanza de uno mismo a conciencia en cambiar nuestra actitud y comportamiento para una vida sana y segura, una ciudad limpia con un aire puro.
The pollution is amplified by the waste we produce and handle without knowing where and how to dispose of it safely, and furthermore, not realizing it is the principal cause of illness in children.
La naturaleza hace grandes obras sin esperar recompensa alguna; es por eso que tú tienes que plantar un árbol y estarás sembrando conciencia.
In our city, we see our heritage being destroyed as trees are chopped down, roads are torn up and our main water source is contaminated. We hope for awareness to enable us to change our attitudes and behaviours to create a healthy, safe life in a clean city with pure air. Nature does great works without expecting any reward; it is our job to plant the seeds to sow awareness.

uestra pequeña gran ciudad tiene cosas que la hacen distinta, no solamente su arquitectura, su historia o su comida. Nadie habla de esto, pero en Sucre las estaciones se combinan y crean otras nuevas, lo que hace más agradable vivir aquí. El 21 de Junio marca el inicio del invierno, pero aquí sabemos poco del frío, lo nuestro es el invierano, ¿qué es eso? Son días o semanas con mucho calor. Cuando se escucha truenos y caen relámpagos no llueve y a la minúscula nube en el horizonte se aproxima una tormenta que no dura mucho pero empapa todo. Una locura propia de esta ciudad. Pero a quienes prefieren el frío, se puede sentir un poco en las noches y las madrugadas. ¿Suena raro? es curioso salir de casa con mucho calor y caminar en medio de la gente y los autos, para volver con una ventisca refrescante, calles vacías pero mojadas y un arcoíris en el horizonte. En Sucre, cada invierno a falta de nieve, tenemos un cielo azul con un sol radiante todos los días. ur small city has things that are distinct, not only the architecture, history and food. unio y julio son los meses que corresponden a INTI 36, estos meses se caracterizan por presentarnos las temperaturas más bajas del año, damos inicio al invierno, nuestra ciudad sufre cambios bruscos de temperatura,La temática que sostiene INTI 36 es el cuidado del medio ambiente, para ello, los adultos tienen la responsabilidad de enseñar a los más pequeños valores y hábitos ecológicos. Es importanteeducar a los niños en el cuidado del entorno. June and July are the months corresponding to INTI 36. These months are characterized by the lowest temperatures of the year and winter begins. Our city suffers sudden temperature changes. INTI 36 features protection of the environment, adults have the responsibility of teaching even the smallest ecological values. It is important to educate children to take care of the environment. If from when they’re small they learn to protect the environment, when they grow up they will be more aware. Los niños tienen que comprender que su vida depende del medio ambiente. Los niños aprenden por imitación, sobre todo de las personas de su entorno que consideran referentes. Por ello, la educación ambiental comienza por nosotros mismos. Si los más pequeños nos ven tirar un residuo en la calle o en la naturaleza, o bien dejar las luces encendidas o los grifos abiertos sin necesidad, harán lo mismo. Children need to understand that their life depends on the environment. Children learn by imitating people around them, so environmental education begins with ourselves. If the little ones see us throw rubbish on the street or in the countryside, or leaving lights or taps on, they will do the same. La labor de concienciación debe ser constante, diaria, con paciencia. Hay que repetir las veces que sea necesario los consejos o las pautas que nuestras niñas y niños deberían adquirir. En vez de castigar las malas conductas ecológicas, es preferible reforzar y premiar las buenas. Los niños lo interiorizarán como algo positivo y se les grabará para el futuro. Raising awareness should be constant, daily and done with patience. You have to repeat advice and guidelines that our children can learn as many times as necessary. Instead of punishing bad ecological behavior, it is preferable to reinforce and reward the good. Children internalize it as something positive and will they will remember it in the the future. INTI UNA INTI, AN EXPERIENCIA UNFORGETTABLE INOLVIDABLE EXPERIENCE

escubrí la Revista INTI cuando una niña me la vendió en una cafetería cerca de la Plaza 25 de Mayo. Pensaba encontrar un trabajo voluntario y hacerlo con INTI me parecía una buena oportunidad para conocer Sucre y su gente a un nivel más profundo. No fui desilusionada.
discovered INTI Magazine when it was sold to me by a young girl in a cafe off of the Plaza 25 de Mayo. I had been thinking about volunteering while in Sucre and INTI Magazine presented a great opportunity to get to know Sucre and its people on a deeper level. And I was not disappointed.
Ser voluntaria con los niños INTI implica ayudar a los niños a vender la revista en la Plaza.
Volunteering with INTI primarily meant helping the children sell the magazine in the main square.
Si tuviera alguna preocupación de no poder conectar con los niños, mi primer día, fueron erradicadas cuando dos niños tomaron mis manos y empezaron a tirarme en direcciones opuestas. Si pude observar cuanto los niños disfrutan de la atención de los voluntarios.
If I had any doubts about not being able to connect with the children on my first day with INTI, they were erased when two of them grabbed my hands and proceeded to pull me in opposing directions; both of them wanting me to help them.
La parte más sobresaliente de la experiencia era los niños y poder jugar y reír con ellos.
In fact, it was the children and the way they lit up when you paid them attention that was the most memorable part of the experience for me.
