There follows an article released by Bell+ Howell, which I did not see until 27th October — this was too late to do anything about the Regma advertisement and the last statement I had from Regma personnel was still claiming that there was no truth in the rumour which was flourishing throughout the trade. — Ed.

Bell + Howell acquires Regina’s microfilm business
Bell + Howell, whose European headquarters are in London, has reached an agreement to acquire the microfilm products business of Regma S.A., Nanterre, France. Under the terms of the agreement, which will become effective on the 17th November 1992, Bell + Howell is purchasing assets in France, the U.K. and Germany, including a licence to use the Regma brand name and will employ staff directly associated with the microfilm business. Regma will continue to supply Regma branded product via its subsidiaries in Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium, acting for and supported by Bell + Howell. Additionally, Bell + Howell will continue to support Regma’s microfilm distributors in other markets throughout Europe and the Middle East. Announcing the deal in Paris today, Richard Austin, Managing Director of Bell + Howell’s Information Management Division said “ Regma is a well-established and highly respected Company and it is our intention to ensure continuity of supply.
