Solar Microfilm Equipment
Solar Microfilm will be showing some brand new equipment at the Showcase this year alongside many of their well established units. New will be the Splicemaster ultrasonic splicer which has been successfully market tested in the U.S.A. but this will be the U.K. launch. New is a multi-lens version of their 16/35mm reader, ideally suited for library use. Also on display will be the tried and tested editing station, which proved so popular at last year’s Showcase, simple film winders, film cleaners and a useful lens and gate glass cleaning kit.

Imtec Group Ltd.
Imtec, a leading British 35mm microfilm company, will be unveiling the new Imtec Premier Range of microfilm consumables. They will also be announcing the opening of a new branch of the Imtec Reprographic Centre, at Stanmore, Middlesex. This will link up with their existing branches in Manchester and Telford offering a complete nationwide microfilm and reprographic service. On show will be the new Imtec 5100 Zoom A2 plain paper reader printer, the low cost Imtec 3000 A3 plain paper reader printer and the Imtec 2001 Universal A2 reader. Also featured will be the Imtec 8000 aperture card duplicator.

Elke Microforms will be exhibiting a range of their microfilm equipment at the Microfilm Showcase 1992. The main attraction on the Elke stand will be their new 35mm LIBRARY microfilm camera. Following the successful launch of the camera last year Elke now have a full order book for this product. Elke are also pleased to announce that the Imtec Group have been appointed as a main dealer for this product in the U.K. and Europe which will significantly increase sales. Features of the LIBRARY camera which make it so popular are as follows: • Modular construction to enable clients to specify their exact needs. • Automatic Exposure Control which gives consistent density from even the most difficult of originals. • Computer controlled for simplicity and reliability of operation, and completely user friendly. • Camera status screen to inform the operator about all aspects of the camera before exposure. • The rise and fall book cradle, the rise and fall top glass and swivelling book cradle are all pneumatically operated for speed of production. • Reduction ratios are variable from 7.4 X to 30 X. Also on the stand will be the very successful Elke 1000 jacket/aperture card high speed titler. Linked to a PC it can title up to 1000 jackets/aperture cards per hour, and many service bureaux have proved that it is faster than several memory typewriters, so the operator savings can be considerable. On the stand Elke will also be showing their semi-automatic Aperture Card Mounter.
