EDWARD WOLF DIRECTOR–CHIEF
THE TRUE ESSENCE OF BEAUTY
EMBRACING YOURSELF IN A WORLD OF COMPARISON
In an era ruled by filters and unrealistic standards, embracing authentic beauty is a revolutionary act. Owning your imperfections is the first step toward a confidence that doesn’t need external validation.
Beauty has always been celebrated, but in today’s world, it often feels like a double-edged sword. Social media, advertisements, and the beauty industry have created an image of “perfection” that can be impossible to achieve. For many women and young girls, this can lead to self-esteem issues, body image concerns, and even more serious problems like eating disorders. But beauty is not one-size-fits-all—it is unique, diverse, and deeply personal. Embracing yourself and your skin is not just an act of self-love; it is an act of defiance in a world that profits from your insecurities.
THE IMPACT OF THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY ON SELF-ESTEEM
The beauty industry is worth over $511 billion globally as of 2023, thriving on a constant cycle of products, trends, and advertisements that promise flawless skin, perfect hair, and bodies that fit narrow ideals. While it celebrates innovation and creativity, it also perpetuates unattainable beauty standards.
Young girls, in particular, are heavily influenced by these portrayals. Studies have found that 80% of girls ages 10-17 avoid participating in everyday activities, like attending school or social events, because they feel bad about their appearance. Social media exacerbates this issue, with one in three teenage girls reporting that Instagram makes them feel worse about their bodies, according to a 2021 Facebook internal study. This dissatisfaction can spiral into harmful behaviors. For example, 95% of people with eating disorders are between the ages of 12 and
“BEAUTY IS NOT ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL-IT IS UNIQUE, DIVERSE, AND DEEPLY PERSONAL”
25, and many of these cases are linked to societal pressure to look a certain way. The constant comparison erodes self-worth, leaving women questioning their value beyond their looks.
REDEFINING BEAUTY ON YOUR OWN TERMS
True beauty cannot be confined to a single standard. It is found in individuality, confidence, and authenticity. Embracing yourself starts with letting go of the need to compare yourself to others. Here are some steps to help you reconnect with your beauty:
Celebrate Your Unique Features:
Focus on what makes you different, whether it’s your freckles, curves, or
smile. Your individuality is your power.
Detox Your Social Media: Studies show that reducing social media use by just 30 minutes per day can significantly improve mental health, so unfollow accounts that make you feel inadequate and follow those that promote positivity and diversity.
Practice Self-Compassion: Replace critical self-talk with words of kindness. For instance, 78% of women surveyed by Dove in their “Self-Esteem Project” reported feeling more confident when they actively practiced self-kindness.
Invest in Inner Beauty: Engage in hobbies, cultivate kindness,
and grow your confidence from within. Beauty is not just what’s on the surface.
Surround Yourself with Positivity:
Spend time with people who uplift and support you, and encourage you to see your worth beyond looks.
HOW WE CAN DO BETTER AS A SOCIETY
The responsibility to challenge harmful beauty standards doesn’t fall on individuals alone. Society as a whole needs to step up:
Brands Should Promote Diversity:
The beauty industry must showcase models of all shapes, sizes, skin tones, and abilities. Representation matters, especially considering that 68% of women feel brands don’t adequately represent them, according to a report by Deloitte.
Educate Early: Schools and families should teach young girls about the impact of media and the importance of self-acceptance. A study by the Girl Scouts of America found that 74% of girls wish they had access to tools to improve their body confidence.
Challenge Unrealistic Standards:
Call out photoshopped images and unrealistic portrayals of beauty when you see them. Transparency in advertising is key.
Celebrate Natural Beauty: Encourage more “real skin” campaigns and movements that celebrate imperfections, like acne, stretch marks, and wrinkles.
FINDING CONFIDENCE IN YOUR OWN SKIN
True beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself. It’s not about fitting into a mold; it’s about breaking free from it. When you embrace your unique features, celebrate your quirks, and nurture your inner self, you become a force of confidence and inspiration.
Remember, beauty is not about perfection. It’s about authenticity, self-love, and the light you bring to the world. By choosing to embrace yourself and rejecting harmful standards, you not only transform your own life—you inspire others to do the same.
Let’s rewrite the narrative of beauty, one woman at a time. Together, we can create a world where every woman feels seen, valued, and beautiful—exactly as she is.
ZENDAYA
THE STAR REDEFINING FAME
Zendaya is more than an actress or fashionista; she’s a symbol of a generation demanding authenticity, diversity, and purpose. Her ability to navigate blockbusters, indie films, and activism makes her a unique figure. As she continues to break barriers, one thing is clear: Zendaya isn’t just following a path; she’s forging a new one. Her story, like her, is a work in progress, full of boldness, humanity, and a spark that lights up everything she touches.
Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, known simply as Zendaya, is not just a name; she’s a cultural phenomenon. At 28, this Oakland, California native has carved a path few achieve: from a Disney Channel child star to a global icon in film, fashion, and activism. Her story is that of a young woman who, with a blend of innate talent, discipline, and clear vision, has redefined what it means to be a celebrity in the 21st century.
Raised in a humble environment, the daughter of an elementary school teacher and a former boxer, Zendaya grew up surrounded by art and community. Her mother worked at the California Shakespeare Theater, where Zendaya, as a child, soaked up the world of performance. “I always knew I wanted to act, sing, dance… but I also wanted to be real,” she once said, recalling her early years. That authenticity would become her hallmark. Her leap to fame came in 2010 with Shake It Up, the Disney Channel series where she played Rocky Blue. At 14, Zendaya already exuded magnetic charisma, but also an ambition that set her apart. She didn’t want to be just a teen star; she wanted to transcend. “I’m not satisfied with being a pretty face. I want
to tell stories that matter,” she stated in a 2015 interview. That declaration, delivered with the confidence of a veteran, set the tone for her career.
Zendaya’s journey from Disney to major studios was no accident. Her transition was strategic, guided by an almost prophetic instinct for choosing projects that defied expectations. In 2017, her role as MJ in Spider-Man: Homecoming propelled her into the mainstream. She wasn’t the typical damsel in distress; her MJ was sarcastic, complex, an outsider with depth. “I wanted MJ to be someone real girls could relate to, not a fantasy,” she explained. Her chemistry with Tom Holland, her co-star and real-life partner, added an extra layer of charm to the franchise.
But it was her work in Euphoria (2019) that marked a turning point. As Rue, a teenager grappling with addiction, Zendaya delivered a raw, devastating performance that earned her an Emmy at 24, making her the youngest winner in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category. “Rue broke me and rebuilt me. It’s a character that demands everything,” she confessed. The series, created by Sam Levinson, not only showcased her acting range but also positioned her as a voice for issues like mental health and diversity.
“I’M NOT SATISFIED WITH BEING A PRETTY FACE. I WANT TO TELL STORIES THAT MATTER”
Her foray into auteur cinema came with Malcolm & Marie (2021), an intimate black-and-white drama alongside John David Washington. Though the film divided critics, Zendaya proved she could carry a narrative with sheer emotional intensity. “I’m not afraid to take risks. If you’re not getting criticized, you’re not pushing boundaries,” she told Vanity Fair. This mantra seems to guide every step of her career.
If Zendaya is a force on screen, in fashion she’s a revolution. Her collaboration with stylist Law Roach has produced some of the most iconic red-carpet moments.
From her Joan of Arc-inspired gown at the 2018 Met Gala to her thematic looks for Dune and Spider-Man premieres, Zendaya has turned fashion into a narrative. “Fashion is another way to tell stories. It’s theater, it’s expression,” she stated.
Roach, her stylist describes her approach as “fearless and bold.” Together, they’ve embraced “method dressing,” styling in sync with her projects’ characters or themes.
For Challengers (2024), where she plays a tennis player caught in a love triangle, Zendaya wore tennis-inspired outfits, from pleated skirts to sportswear nods. “It’s not just about looking good; it’s about being authentic to the project,” she explained.
Her influence in fashion extends beyond red carpets. She’s been a face for brands like Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, and Lancôme, but always with a personal touch. “I don’t want to be just a face. I want my presence in these brands to mean something, to make people think about inclusion and diversity,” she told Vogue.
Zendaya is more than a star; she’s an advocate for change. In a Hollywood where diversity remains a challenge, she has used her platform to champion representation. “I grew up not seeing many girls like me on screen. I want to change that for the next generation,” she declared in 2020, amid the Black Lives Matter movement.
Her activism goes beyond speeches. She’s produced projects that amplify underrepresented voices, like Euphoria, and supported causes like education and gender equality. She’s also been vocal about unrealistic beauty standards in the industry. “I’m not interested in being perfect. I want to be human, with flaws, with stories,” she said in a conversation with Elle.
Her relationship with fame is equally thoughtful. In an era of social media, Zendaya balances exposure and privacy. While she shares moments with fans, she guards her personal life, especially her relationship with Tom Holland. “Fame is a tool, not my identity. I want to be known for my work, not my personal life,” she said in a recent interview.
In 2021, Zendaya joined the cast of Dune, Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic. As Chani, a Fremen warrior, she brought a magnetic presence that, though brief in the first installment, left a lasting impression. In Dune: Part Two (2024), her role expanded, cementing her as a key figure in the saga. “Working with Denis was like going to film school. It taught me to trust my instincts,” she commented.
Her schedule shows no signs of slowing down. Beyond Challengers, she has projects in development as a producer and rumors of a potential return to music, a field she briefly explored with her 2013 debut album. “Music will always be in my heart, but it has to be the right moment,” she admitted.
“RUE BROKE ME AND REBUILT ME. IT’S A CHARACTER THAT DEMANDS EVERYTHING”
THE ENTRANCING DANCE
Nikkei cuisine fuses Japanese precision with bold Peruvian flavors, creating innovative dishes like Ceviche Nikkei and Lomo Saltado Nikkei—a vibrant result of cultural exchange.
DANCE OF NIKKEI CUISINE
The story of Nikkei cuisine begins in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the arrival of Japanese immigrants to Peru. Seeking new opportunities, these pioneers brought with them their culinary traditions, a deep respect for fresh ingredients, and meticulous techniques. Over time, these traditions began to intertwine with the local Peruvian gastronomy, a cuisine already rich with indigenous ingredients like potatoes, corn, and chilies, and further influenced by Spanish and African flavors.
This wasn’t a simple blending; it was a creative evolution. Japanese cooks, finding themselves in a new land with unfamiliar produce, ingeniously adapted their recipes. They discovered the vibrant flavors of Peruvian limes, the fiery kick of rocoto peppers, and the earthy sweetness of Andean tubers. Similarly, Peruvian palates embraced the subtle nuances of Japanese flavors, the clean freshness of raw fish, and the savory depth of soy sauce.
The result? A cuisine that is both familiar and surprising, comforting and exhilarating. It’s a testament to the adaptability of culinary traditions and the beautiful outcomes that can arise when cultures meet in the kitchen.
A SYMPHONY OF FLAVORS AND TEXTURES
Nikkei cuisine is a sensorial adventure. Imagine the delicate chewiness of perfectly cooked sushi rice embracing the bright acidity of ceviche-marinated fish. Picture the tender morsels of anticuchos, marinated in miso and panca pepper, kissed by the smoky char of the grill. It’s a cuisine that plays with contrasts: the smoothness of avocado against the crispness of tempura, the heat of chilies balanced by the subtle sweetness of mirin.
The Japanese emphasis on umami, that
savory fifth taste, finds a perfect partner in the inherent richness of Peruvian ingredients. The fermented notes of soy sauce and miso deepen the flavors of stews and sauces, while the freshness of sashimi is elevated by the bright, citrusy leche de tigre.
ICONIC DISHES: A TASTE OF NIKKEI INNOVATION
The Nikkei culinary landscape is dotted with iconic dishes that showcase this harmonious blend of cultures. Here are a few that exemplify the spirit of this fusion:
•Ceviche Nikkei: A departure from the traditional lime-cured ceviche, this version often incorporates soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, or dashi into the marinade. The result is a ceviche with a deeper, more savory profile, while still retaining the freshness of the fish and the zing of citrus. Sometimes, additions like seaweed or kion (ginger) further underscore the Japanese influence.
•Tiradito Nikkei: Similar to ceviche but with the fish sliced thinly like sashimi, tiradito showcases the quality of the seafood. Nikkei variations often feature creamy sauces made with yellow chili paste (ají amarillo), soy sauce, and lime, creating a visually stunning and intensely flavorful dish.
•Anticuchos Nikkei: The classic Peruvian street food of grilled skewered meat takes on a Japanese twist with marinades incorporating miso paste, ginger, and sometimes a touch of ají panca for a smoky depth. The result is a tender, flavorful skewer with a unique umami punch.
•Lomo Saltado Nikkei: This popular Peruvian stir-fry of beef, onions, tomatoes, and French fries gets a Nikkei upgrade with the addition of soy sauce, sake, or mirin to the sauce. The interplay of savory, tangy, and slightly sweet notes, combined with the textural contrast of the tender beef and crispy fries, makes this a beloved dish.
•Sushi Nikkei: Perhaps the most direct expression of the fusion, Nikkei
sushi incorporates Peruvian ingredients and flavors into traditional Japanese preparations. Think rolls filled with avocado and ají amarillo cream, or topped with thinly sliced fish marinated in leche de tigre.
•Causa Nikkei: The layered potato terrine known as causa gets a Nikkei makeover with fillings like tuna salad infused with wasabi or avocado cream seasoned with soy sauce and ginger. The creamy texture of the potatoes provides a comforting base for the vibrant Nikkei flavors.
•Arroz Chaufa Nikkei: The PeruvianChinese fried rice, arroz chaufa, embraces Japanese influences with the addition of ingredients like katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) or a drizzle of sesame oil, adding layers of savory complexity.
•Ramen Nikkei: While perhaps less ubiquitous, some Nikkei chefs have experimented with ramen, infusing the broth with Peruvian chilies or incorporating ingredients like grilled anticucho meat as toppings.
•Gyoza with Rocoto Dip: The Japanese dumplings find a Peruvian partner in a spicy dipping sauce made from rocoto peppers, offering a fiery counterpoint to the savory filling.
•Desserts: Even the sweet side of Nikkei cuisine showcases this creative blend. Think of mochi filled with lucuma (a Peruvian fruit with a maple-like flavor) or alfajores (delicate shortbread cookies filled with manjar blanco) infused with green tea.
A CULINARY PHILOSOPHY
Nikkei cuisine is more than just a list of dishes; it’s a culinary philosophy rooted in respect for ingredients, meticulous technique, and a spirit of innovation. It’s about taking the best of two worlds and creating something entirely new and exciting. It’s a testament to the power of food to transcend borders and create connections.
MIRANDA GODVIL PORTRAIT SERIES
Faces That Whisper Stories
There are photographers who shoot to impress, and there are others—rarer ones—who shoot to listen. Jacob Lypart belongs to the latter. In his Portrait series, the act of photographing becomes almost a ritual: an invitation to silence, to the truth that trembles in every gesture.
Before his camera, no one is just a pose. There’s a held breath, a glimmer in the eyes that can’t be faked, a vulnerability that slips through uninvited. Lypart doesn’t force the scene; he lets it unfold. He watches, accompanies, waits.
The light in his portraits doesn’t blind—it caresses. The backgrounds don’t distract—they protect. Everything conspires to allow the soul, whether shy or bold, to surface without masks. “I strive to create images that are not just beautiful, but also authentic and meaningful,” he says. Yet his photographs do something more: they make us feel like gentle intruders in a deeply private conversation.
Every face captured by Jacob tells a story that doesn’t always need words. Stories of courage, melancholy, or latent dreams. Stories that, like soft echoes, linger long after we look away.
In a time of masks and noise, Portrait offers itself as a refuge. A place where humanity—so simple, so complex—can be seen exactly as it is: imperfect, luminous, unrepeatable.
THE GLAM ROCK REVOLUTION FROM EUROPE MANESKIN
Måneskin, rising from Eurovision fame, has become a global rock sensation. Their raw energy, musical talent, and unapologetic individuality resonate deeply with audiences worldwide. Blending classic rock influences with a modern edge, their electrifying performances and evolving songwriting solidify their place as a powerful force in contemporary music, defying expectations and igniting a rock and roll revival.
MANESKIN
The air crackles with an almost tangible energy as Damiano David saunters onto the stage, a figure carved from rock and rebellion. His gaze, sharp and knowing, sweeps across the roaring crowd, a sea of faces illuminated by the strobing lights. Beside him, Victoria De Angelis lays down a bassline that’s less a sequence of notes and more a primal heartbeat, Thomas Raggi conjures riffs that snake and soar with a swaggering confidence, and Ethan Torchio anchors it all with a drumming style that’s both thunderous and nuanced. This isn’t just a band; it’s a force of nature, a four-pronged attack on the predictable landscape of modern music. This is Måneskin, and they’re not just here to play – they’re here to ignite a revolution, one electrifying performance at a time.
Rewind a few years, and the narrative was different. Eurovision 2021. A whirlwind of glitter, soaring vocals, and national pride. Måneskin, representing Italy with the raw, unapologetic rock anthem “Zitti e buoni,” weren’t your typical saccharine Eurovision fare. They were gritty, they were loud, and they were undeniably cool. Their victory wasn’t just a win for Italy; it was a seismic shift, a crack in the polished veneer of the competition, letting in a blast of genuine rock ‘n’ roll energy.
But to pigeonhole Måneskin as just a Eurovision success story is to fundamentally misunderstand their trajectory. They didn’t fade into the predictable post-contest obscurity that swallows so many. Instead, they grabbed that moment by the throat and used it as a springboard, catapulting themselves onto the global stage with a ferocity rarely seen. Their subsequent singles, their collaborations with rock legends, their sold-out tours across continents – it all speaks to a band with a vision far beyond the glitz and glamour of a televised song contest.
They’re not afraid to challenge norms, to speak their minds, to be themselves, and that resonates deeply with fans who are also searching for their own voice.
Their live shows are legendary, a testament to their raw energy and musicianship. From intimate club gigs to stadium-sized spectacles, they command the stage with an almost primal intensity. Damiano stalks the stage like a rock god reborn, his voice dripping with emotion, while Victoria headbangs with a ferocity that belies her cool demeanor. Thomas conjures guitar solos that are both virtuosic and visceral, and Ethan’s relentless drumming keeps the energy levels perpetually in the red. To witness Måneskin live is to experience the pure, unadulterated power of rock and roll in its most exhilarating form.
Their journey hasn’t been without its critics, of course. Some dismiss them as a fleeting trend, a product of the Eurovision hype machine. Others take issue with their sometimes provocative image or their outspokenness on social and political issues. But Måneskin has consistently proven their staying power, silencing doubters with each new release, each sold-out show, each powerful performance. They’re not chasing trends; they’re setting them. They’re not conforming to expectations; they’re shattering them.
Consider their collaborations. Working with the iconic Iggy Pop on a blistering rendition of “I Wanna Be Your Dog” wasn’t just a cool moment; it was a validation, a passing of the torch from one generation of rock rebels to the next. Their collaboration with Tom Morello on “Gossip” further cemented their rock credentials, showcasing their ability to seamlessly blend their sound with that of a true guitar legend. These aren’t just opportunistic pairings; they’re genuine artistic connections that speak to the respect they’ve earned within the industry.
“WE WERE JUST FOUR FRIENDS WHO WANTED TO MAKE LOUD MUSIC TOGETHER. WE NEVER
There’s a certain alchemy at play within Måneskin. It’s not just about the individual talents, though each member is a formidable musician in their own right. It’s the way they coalesce, the unspoken understanding that flows between them on stage, the way they feed off each other’s energy. Damiano, with his charismatic stage presence and vocal prowess that can shift from a sensual growl to a soaring high note in a heartbeat, is the undeniable focal point. But Victoria’s grounded yet fiercely energetic basslines provide the bedrock for their sound, while Thomas’s guitar work is both technically brilliant and imbued with a raw, almost bluesy sensibility. And then there’s Ethan, the quiet storm behind the kit, whose intricate rhythms and powerful beats drive the band’s relentless energy.
EXPECTED THIS”
And then there’s the songwriting. While their early hits were often high-octane rock anthems, their more recent work has shown a growing maturity and depth. Tracks like “The Loneliest” showcase a vulnerability and emotional resonance that goes beyond the typical rock bravado. They’re exploring new sonic territories, experimenting with different textures and moods, proving that they’re not content to simply repeat the formula that brought them initial success.
Their global appeal is undeniable. They’ve conquered Europe, stormed the charts in North and South America, and built a massive following in Asia and Australia. Their concerts are a melting pot of languages and cultures, united by the universal language of rock and roll. In a fragmented world, Måneskin offers a sense of shared experience, a collective catharsis through music.
Their sound is a delicious melting pot of influences, drawing from the classic rock titans of the past – Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, even a touch of Bowie’s glam rock swagger – while injecting it with a distinctly modern, youthful energy. They’re not afraid to be loud, to be raw, to let the imperfections shine through. In a world often obsessed with polished perfection, Måneskin’s music feels refreshingly authentic, like a shot of pure adrenaline straight to the heart.
But it’s not just the music that’s captivating audiences worldwide. It’s the attitude, the unapologetic embrace of individuality, the blurring of gender lines in their fashion and performance. They exude a confidence that’s both alluring and empowering, particularly to a younger generation hungry for authenticity and self-expression.
What’s next for Måneskin? The possibilities seem limitless. They’re a band that thrives on pushing boundaries, on challenging themselves and their audience. They’re not afraid to evolve, to experiment, to take risks. In a music landscape often dominated by manufactured pop and formulaic trends, Måneskin is a breath of fresh air, a reminder that rock and roll is still alive and kicking, still capable of capturing the hearts and minds of a new generation.
They are more than just a band; they are a cultural phenomenon. They represent a shift towards authenticity, towards embracing individuality, towards the raw power of music to connect and inspire. They are loud, they are bold, they are unapologetically themselves, and the world is listening. Måneskin isn’t just a moment; they’re a movement. And this is just the beginning.
ETERNAL EGYPT: FEASTS, PHARAOHS, AND FIRES BEYOND
From the humble Egyptian diet to divine rituals, this article unveils the daily life and mystical ceremonies of Ancient Egypt, including sacred drinks, ancestor worship, and curious practices that still fascinate the modern world.
In the previous article, I left you with a question: Did you know what the basic diet of an Egyptian was? Back then, what no ordinary Egyptian could live without was bread and beer. It was their staple diet, as it provided enough nutrients to survive (not all the necessary ones, but enough). Water was not as common due to the danger involved in fetching it from the Nile (in short, you could end up as a crocodile’s lunch). Here’s a remarkable fact: beer was invented by the Egyptians, and even today it remains a beloved drink—not just in Egypt, but around the world. So technically, Egypt conquered the planet through its beer. Think about that next time you enjoy a cold one—maybe you’ll even feel a bit Egyptian. Did you know that Egypt also had a drink similar to cider? It was
made from fermented apple or pear juice with a low alcohol content, ranging from 2% to 8%. This beverage was often used as an offering to Anubis. Even today, Kemetists (believers in modern Egyptian religion) often offer it to this god.
NOW, LET’S TALK ABOUT ONE OF THE MAJOR FESTIVALS STILL CELEBRATED BY THE FOLLOWERS OF THIS FAITH:
The Beautiful Festival of the Valley (a celebration to honor the ancestors): It was one of the most popular and important festivals in Ancient Egypt, held annually in Thebes. It was a state celebration, with participation from the Pharaoh and his family. This was a funerary festival dedicated to the dead. It began during the new moon of the second harvest month, called Paini. The king himself led the ritual, acting as a mediator between the
“ANUBIS RECEIVED CIDER IN OFFERINGS THAT SPANNED THE CENTURIES”
living and the dead. Initially, it was only celebrated at the temples of Karnak and Deir El-Bahari, but eventually it expanded to other temples.
The Pharaoh and his family would sail in a boat to visit the deceased kings. The statue of Amun-Ra was carried from Karnak to the Nile, where it crossed the river—symbolically granting strength to the living through a visit to the realm of the dead. Funerary banquets were held in honor of the departed. At nightfall, the queen would place four torches, one at each corner of the boat, in honor of the divine and to illuminate the four cardinal points.
Today, the festival is celebrated on May 11. Since the ancient practices cannot be fully replicated, Kemetists adapt them to modern times by placing candles, offerings, and flowers on their ancestor altars. They also visit cemeteries to see their loved ones, leave candles, offer gifts, and write them letters sharing details of daily life. At the tombs, people speak to the dead, believing their
souls are present. It’s a beautiful day to feel close to those who have passed.
Speaking of this festival, it might remind you of the Christian All Saints’ Day. Technically, it’s quite similar—though the Egyptian version is obviously much older.
To wrap up, here are some curious facts: Egyptians were brilliant mathematicians, astronomers, doctors, and magicians, as reflected in the following: The most common illnesses were blindness and cavities. To treat cavities, they invented fillings, and for blindness, they developed various treatments. One way to prevent blindness caused by trachoma was by using kohl (the eye paint), which also worked like sunglasses.
And while I know you’re eager to learn more, I have to say goodbye for now. In the next article, I’ll answer the question: Did you know there was a job called “Guardian of the Pharaoh’s Anus”?

THE PRANCING HORSE UNLEASHED FERRARI PUROSANGUE
The Ferrari Purosangue breaks new ground for the marque as a four-door, four-seater offering a unique blend of Ferrari’s signature V12 performance and luxurious practicality. While not an SUV in Ferrari’s eyes, it represents a bold evolution, delivering exhilarating driving dynamics and refined comfort in a striking and versatile package.
For decades, the prancing horse emblem has been synonymous with lowslung speed machines, the visceral thrill of a screaming V12 just inches from the tarmac. Ferrari has cultivated an image of focused performance, a dedication to the art of the sports car that has captivated enthusiasts and defined automotive desire. Yet, the winds of change are undeniable, and even the most steadfast of manufacturers must adapt. Enter the Ferrari Purosangue, a
PUROSANGUE
UNLEASHED IN A BOLD NEW FORM
vehicle that dares to tread into territory previously uncharted by the Maranello marque. Is it an SUV? Ferrari bristles at the term, preferring to call it a “four-door, four-seater.” But whatever label you choose, the Purosangue represents a seismic shift, a bold statement that Ferrari is ready to embrace a new era without sacrificing the very soul that makes it a Ferrari.
The arrival of the Purosangue has been met with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation. For some purists, the notion of a high-riding Ferrari feels akin
to sacrilege, a dilution of the brand’s core values. Yet, in a world increasingly dominated by performance SUVs, Ferrari’s hand was perhaps forced. The market demands versatility, practicality, and a commanding driving position, even from the most discerning clientele. The Purosangue, therefore, is not a surrender, but rather a strategic evolution, a way to attract a new generation of Ferrari owners without alienating the loyal faithful.
Visually, the Purosangue is a striking departure from Ferrari’s traditional design
language, yet it retains enough familiar cues to be instantly recognizable. The long bonnet, a hallmark of front-engined Ferraris, stretches assertively forward, hinting at the potent powertrain beneath. The sleek, coupe-like roofline flows gracefully towards the rear, disguising the car’s increased ride height and four doors with remarkable success. The rear-hinged “welcome doors” are a particularly elegant touch, providing easy access to the spacious rear seats while maintaining a sense of exclusivity.
AUTOMOTIVE
The design is intricate, a tapestry of aerodynamic sculpting and muscular curves. The split headlight design, first seen on the SF90 Stradale, adds a modern and aggressive edge, while the pronounced wheel arches house substantial alloy wheels, emphasizing the car’s planted stance. Unlike many SUVs, the Purosangue avoids excessive cladding and ornamentation, instead relying on the purity of its form and the carefully considered interplay of light and shadow across its sculpted surfaces. It’s a design that manages to be both imposing and elegant, a testament to Ferrari’s meticulous attention to detail.
But a Ferrari is never truly defined by its aesthetics alone. The heart of any prancing horse lies beneath the bonnet, and the Purosangue delivers in spectacular fashion.
Eschewing the current trend of downsized, turbocharged engines favored by some competitors, Ferrari has opted for a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 – a glorious, unadulterated powerhouse that produces a staggering 715 bhp and 528 lb-ft of torque. This is an engine that sings a mechanical symphony, a visceral roar that stirs the soul and provides an immediate connection between driver and machine.
The performance figures are predictably breathtaking. Ferrari claims a 0-62 mph sprint in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of over 193 mph. But the numbers only tell part of the story. The Purosangue is not just about outright speed; it’s about the way that power is delivered –the instant throttle response, the relentless surge of acceleration, and the spine-tingling soundtrack that accompanies every press of the accelerator pedal. It’s a driving experience that is both exhilarating and surprisingly refined, a testament to Ferrari’s engineering prowess.
through the digital instrument cluster and the passenger display, creating a clean and uncluttered dashboard design.
Practicality, while perhaps not the primary concern for Ferrari buyers, has been thoughtfully considered. The rear seats offer ample legroom and headroom, and the rear-hinged doors make ingress and egress surprisingly easy. The boot, while not cavernous by SUV standards, offers enough space for luggage or golf clubs, making the Purosangue a genuinely usable vehicle for everyday life.
Driving the Purosangue is an experience that defies easy categorization. It possesses the raw power and dynamic agility of a true Ferrari sports car, yet it offers a level of comfort and versatility that is unprecedented for the brand. On winding country roads, the V12 sings its glorious song as the Purosangue carves through corners with surprising poise and precision. The steering is direct and communicative, providing a genuine sense of connection with the road, while the powerful brakes offer reassuring stopping power.
On longer journeys, the ride quality is remarkably refined, absorbing bumps and imperfections with a composure that belies its sporting credentials. The cabin remains hushed at cruising speeds, allowing occupants to appreciate the luxurious surroundings and the sophisticated sound system. It’s a car that can effortlessly switch between exhilarating performance and comfortable long-distance cruising, a true grand tourer for the modern era.
“THE PUROSANGUE OFFERS FERRARI POWER AND AGILITY WITH UNPRECEDENTED COMFORT AND VERSATILITY”
Power is channeled through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which offers lightning-fast shifts and seamless power delivery. The all-wheel-drive system, a first for a four-door Ferrari, is designed to maximize traction and control in all conditions, without compromising the car’s inherent agility. Ferrari has also incorporated a sophisticated four-wheel steering system, which enhances both lowspeed maneuverability and high-speed stability, making the Purosangue feel surprisingly nimble for its size.
Inside the cabin, the Purosangue offers a luxurious and technologically advanced environment, befitting its price tag and pedigree. The four individual seats are sculpted and supportive, providing exceptional comfort for all occupants, even on long journeys. The materials used throughout are of the highest quality, with supple leathers, exquisite stitching, and meticulously crafted details creating an atmosphere of understated elegance.
Interestingly, Ferrari has opted for a dual-cockpit design, with a dedicated display for the passenger providing access to performance data and infotainment controls. This reinforces the driver-focused nature of the car, even with its increased practicality. While a traditional central infotainment screen is absent, most functions are accessed
The Ferrari Purosangue is not without its critics. Some will argue that it dilutes the brand’s focus, that it caters to a market segment that Ferrari has traditionally eschewed. Others may point to its substantial price tag and question its value proposition against established luxury SUVs. However, to view the Purosangue solely through the lens of practicality or market trends is to miss the point.
The Purosangue is a Ferrari first and foremost. It embodies the passion, the engineering excellence, and the unmistakable DNA that have defined the brand for generations. It’s a car that offers a unique blend of blistering performance, luxurious comfort, and surprising versatility, all wrapped in a design that is both distinctive and undeniably Ferrari.
In a world where even the most iconic sports car manufacturers are embracing new forms, the Purosangue represents a bold step forward for Ferrari. It’s a statement that the prancing horse is not confined by tradition, that it can evolve and adapt to the changing demands of the market without losing its soul. The Purosangue may not fit neatly into any existing category, but perhaps that is precisely its appeal. It is a Ferrari on its own terms, a fourdoor, four-seater that redefines what a Ferrari can be. And in doing so, it opens up a new and exciting chapter for one of the world’s most revered automotive marques. The purists may take time to be convinced, but for those who crave the thrill of a Ferrari with a newfound sense of practicality, the Purosangue is a compelling and undeniably desirable proposition. It is, in essence, the Ferrari of a new generation.

PERSONAL CARE: THE PATH TO PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL BALANCE
Self-care is a profound act of love that connects the body, mind, and spirit. Through mindful rituals, it fosters emotional balance, inner healing, and reinforces the importance of self-love.
PHYSICAL BALANCE
In the midst of daily chaos, where obligations seem to absorb every moment, personal care rises as a necessary breath of relief—an act of love that goes far beyond the superficial.
Taking care of oneself isn’t just about beauty routines or physical wellness; it’s a ritual that, at its core, connects mind, body, and spirit, offering an essential balance for our emotional health.
Talking about self-care also means talking about spiritual connection. More than a luxury or a trend, it’s a practice that invites us to look inward, reconnect with our emotional needs, and embrace that inner dialogue we often ignore. Creating space to meditate, reflect, or simply breathe deeply during stressful times is more than just a break; it’s an act of reconciliation with oneself—a reminder that true wellness begins from within.
When we care for ourselves, we send a clear message to our mind and body: we matter, we deserve attention. This small gesture can be a balm for the soul during anxious times, helping to reduce stress and build a more stable emotional foundation. Even everyday actions, such as mindful eating, getting enough rest, or exercising, become transformative when done from a place of self-love.
Self-care also invites us to let go of the emotional burdens we’ve carried for years. By tending to our inner needs with compassion, we open doors to deeper healing. In this process, spiritual practice plays a key role, reminding us that we are not just physical beings, but also emotional and spiritual ones seeking balance and peace.
Thus, personal care becomes much more than a routine—it is a spiritual ritual of love, a bridge to our best selves. From small gestures to conscious practices, each action contributes to the path toward holistic well-being. At the end of the day, taking care of ourselves is not selfish—it’s a powerful way to remind ourselves that we are a priority, and that by nurturing our soul, we prepare to face life with greater strength and clarity.

Dune PART TWO
THE CONSECRATION OF THE
WORM: VILLENEUVE UNLEASHES THE
PERFECT SANDSTORM
Dune: Part Two is a science fiction masterpiece. Denis Villeneuve delivers an overwhelming sequel, visually spectacular and thematically complex, exploring Paul Atreides’ dangerous messianic ascent on a brutal Arrakis. A total and unforgettable cinematic experience.
The desert is unforgiving, but cinema sometimes grants miracles. And Denis Villeneuve’s work with the Dune saga is starting to feel like that, like divine intervention or, at the very least, the kind of cinematic alchemy that turns sand and spice into pure 24-karat narrative gold. If Dune: Part One was the whispered promise among relentless dunes, a majestic but contained introduction to Frank Herbert’s impossible universe, Dune: Part Two is the deafening roar of Shai-Hulud, the explosion of Fremen fury contained for generations, the confirmation that we were facing something more than just another blockbuster with grand aspirations. It is, let’s say it now, a masterpiece of contemporary science fiction, a spectacle as visually overwhelming as it is complex and disturbing in its subtext.
Villeneuve, that architect of impossible worlds who had already left us speechless with Arrival and Blade Runner 2049, has not only achieved the unthinkable – adapting the denser and more warlike half of the first Dune book without dying in the attempt – but has done so by raising the stakes, delivering a film that is both a total sensory experience and an uncomfortable reflection on power, faith, and the violence inherent in both. Forget half-measures, sugar-coated endings, or spotless heroes. Arrakis is a brutal place, and Dune: Part Two is not afraid to get its hands (and the screen) dirty with its blood and sand.
The plot picks up exactly where we left off: Paul Atreides (a Timothée Chalamet who now carries a much greater weight, his face transitioning from youthful confusion to an almost terrifying messianic gravity) and his mother, Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson, magnificent in her role as a catalyst for prophecies and a Reverend Mother with her own agenda), have been welcomed by the Fremen. What follows is Paul’s tortuous path towards his manifest destiny, or at least, the one woven for him by the Bene Gesserit and the need for survival.
The film explores with unusual intelligence the duality of Paul: the young man who yearns for a simple life with Chani (Zendaya, whose chemistry with Chalamet is palpable, but whose function transcends mere romantic interest to become the critical conscience of the story) and the Lisan al Gaib, the “Voice from the Outer World,” the leader destined to guide the Fremen towards jihad, the holy war.
Villeneuve does not glorify this ascent. On the contrary, he shows it with all its moral ambiguity, underscoring the danger inherent in blind faith and charismatic leaders who exploit it. We see how Paul struggles against the current of prophecy, how he tries to divert it, but is ultimately swept away by it, by the thirst for revenge and by intergalactic realpolitik. Chalamet nails this transformation, moving from vulnerability to a blood-chilling calculating coldness, especially in a climax where his decisions resonate with echoes of Greek tragedy and political warning. The film is not afraid to show the dark side of the “chosen one,” religious manipulation as a weapon of war, and that elevates it above most fantasy epics.
If anything defines Dune: Part Two, it is its ability to make the desert planet another character. Greig Fraser’s cinematography, which already dazzled us in the first part (and in The Batman, let’s not forget), reaches breathtaking levels of beauty here. Each shot is a monumental canvas, from the vast expanses of sand bathed by twin suns to the intricate Fremen caves (sietches), passing through the battle sequences, choreographed with brutal physicality and astonishing spatial clarity. The immersion is total. You feel the heat, the cutting wind, the vibration of the sand before the arrival of the worm.
Faced with the growing strength of the Fremen, the Harkonnens remain the embodiment of industrial brutality and decadence. Stellan Skarsgård reprises his role as Baron Vladimir, a shapeless mass of malice and ambition, but the true star of the antagonistic function is Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. After his Elvis mimicry, Butler transforms here into an androgynous, lethal, and magnetic psychopath, a kind of cross between a Roman gladiator and a gothic rock star. His introduction on Giedi Prime, filmed in a striking infrared black and white that contrasts brutally with the ochre tones of Arrakis, is one of the film’s highlights. It is pure production design serving the narrative, showing us an artificial, fascist world obsessed with violence as spectacle. The final duel between Paul and Feyd-Rautha is not just a clash of swords, it’s a clash of ideologies, of possible futures for the galaxy.
“I’M NOT SATISFIED WITH BEING A PRETTY FACE. I WANT TO TELL STORIES THAT MATTER”
And speaking of worms. What worms! The sequence in which Paul rides Shai-Hulud for the first time is not just a milestone of visual effects, it’s pure epic cinema, a moment of primal awe that reconciles you with the ability of the seventh art to create wonders.
But beyond the spectacle, Villeneuve delves into Fremen culture. We see their rituals, their symbiotic connection with the desert, their lethal pragmatism. Javier Bardem as Stilgar, the Fremen leader turned fervent devotee of Muad’Dib, provides a counterpoint of unwavering faith (and some necessary comic relief) against Chani’s skepticism. Zendaya, for her part, imbues Chani with crucial strength and independence; she is the moral anchor, the one who sees beyond the myth, the one who fears the storm that Paul is about to unleash.
The young heir, now a messianic leader among the Fremen, embracing his destiny with growing power and vision.
A fierce and independent Fremen warrior, her connection with Paul deepens as they navigate war and prophecy.
Paul’s mother, a powerful Bene Gesserit who influences the Fremen and embraces her new role as Reverend Mother.
The respected Fremen leader, initially skeptical but gradually convinced of Paul’s messianic potential.
Let’s add to the mix a Christopher Walken who imposes with his mere presence as Emperor Shaddam IV, calculating and fearful of losing his throne, and a Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, an intelligent observer and chronicler of the history being written before her eyes (and a key piece for what’s to come). The cast is, quite simply, spectacular, each piece fitting perfectly into Villeneuve’s complex machinery. One cannot talk about Dune: Part Two without mentioning Hans Zimmer’s score. If in the first part he laid the sonic foundations of this universe – with those guttural choirs, tribal percussions, and atmospheric synthesizers – here he unleashes the full power of the orchestra to accompany the epic scale of the narration. The music is not mere accompaniment; it is another force of nature, underscoring the majesty of the worms, the tension of the battles, and the ominous weight of prophecy. The sound design is equally overwhelming, creating an auditory texture that completely immerses you in Arrakis. Hearing this film in a well-equipped cinema is an almost physical experience.
Dune: Part Two works perfectly as a science fiction spectacle. It has memorable battles, cutting-edge visual effects, exquisite production design, and iconic characters. But its greatness also lies in its refusal to offer easy answers. It is a film that leaves you reflecting on the nature of power, the dangers of religious fanaticism, the unforeseen consequences of rebellion, and the thin line between hero and tyrant. Villeneuve does not adapt Herbert literally, but he perfectly captures his critical spirit and thematic complexity.
The Emperor’s daughter, a shrewd observer of the events on Arrakis, her destiny intertwines with Paul’s.
The cruel and cunning nemesis of House Atreides, plotting to regain control of Arrakis.
The Baron’s sadistic and charismatic nephew, a formidable warrior and potential rival for Paul.
Paul’s loyal warrior and mentor, a survivor of the fall of House Atreides, seeking revenge.
PAULATREIDES (TIMOTHÉECHALAMET) CHANI (ZENDAYA)
LADYJESSICA (REBECCAFERGUSON)
STILGAR (JAVIERBARDEM)
PRINCESSIRULAN (FLORENCEPUGH)
BARONVLADIMIR (STELLANSKARSGÅRD)
FEYD-RAUTHA (AUSTINBUTLER)

“A FILM THAT LEAVES YOU REFLECTING ON (...) THE THIN LINE BETWEEN HERO AND TYRANT”
It is an adult film, demanding at times, that trusts the viewer’s intelligence to fill in the gaps and understand the implications of what they are seeing. It is not a story of good versus evil, but a complex tapestry of moral grays where victory always has a terrible cost. The “holy war” that Paul unleashes at the end does not feel like a triumph, but like the prelude to an even greater darkness, just as Herbert conceived it in his subsequent novels.
Dune: Part Two is not only Denis Villeneuve’s best film to date (and that’s saying a lot), it is a cinematic milestone, the kind of event
that redefines what a blockbuster can and should be. It is intelligent, spectacular, exciting, and deeply unsettling. It achieves the squaring of the circle: being faithful to the spirit of a notoriously difficult literary work and, at the same time, delivering a universal and accessible cinematic experience. It is the confirmation that adult, ambitious, and substantive science fiction has a place on the big screen. A perfect sandstorm that sweeps you away and leaves you breathless, amazed, and a little scared by what you have seen. The desert has spoken, and its voice is thunderous. Essential.
Rewrite the Story
With introspection and a practical approach, Isela invites us to question the inherited beliefs that shape our identity. Through the DODDA method, she proposes rewriting our personal narrative to rediscover our authentic essence and embrace a fuller, more meaningful life.
Who am I? It’s a question we all ask ourselves at some point in life. Yet, so often, the answers we find are just echoes of what others once told us we were. From an early age, we absorb the words of parents, teachers, and friends like sponges—people who, without realizing it, shape our identity. As a result, we create a story we repeat over and over, but one that doesn’t always reflect who we truly are.
WHEN I QUESTIONED THE STORY I TOLD MYSELF
For a long time, I lived trapped in a narrative built from labels and outside expectations. I used to say, “That’s just how I’ve always been,” not realizing I was accepting a version of myself I hadn’t consciously chosen. Then, one day, something shifted. A question emerged within me: Who said this was true? That moment marked the beginning of my transformation. I realized that my identity wasn’t fixed—it was something I could renew. That’s how the DODDA method was born: Pause, Observe, Discover, Decide, and Act—a practical guide to dismantling limiting beliefs and writing a new story aligned with who I truly am.
Story You Tell Yourself
YOUR TRUE IDENTITY
“REWRITING YOUR STORY DOESN’T MEAN DENYING WHO YOU WERE”
THE STORY YOU TELL YOURSELF SHAPES YOUR LIFE
Your identity is deeply connected to the stories you choose to believe. Maybe you’ve told yourself things like, “I’m not good enough,” or “I can’t do this.” Every time you do, you reinforce a belief that likely wasn’t even yours to begin with. Changing that narrative begins with asking: Where did this idea come from? Is it really true?
Through self-discovery, I found that many of my beliefs weren’t real—they were interpretations imposed by others. Renewing my story allowed me to build a stronger, more confident, and authentic identity.
Exercise: Change Your Narrative Ready to start fresh? Try this exercise:
Identify a limiting belief. Example: “I never achieve what I want.”
Question it. Ask yourself: Where did this belief come from? Is it really true, or just someone else’s interpretation?
Rewrite it. Transform that belief into one that empowers you. For example: “I can achieve what I want when I trust myself and take small steps toward my goal.”
THE POWER OF TRANSFORMING YOUR IDENTITY
Renewing your story doesn’t mean denying who you were—it means embracing the possibility of becoming who you really are. This process is an act of self-love that guides you toward a more authentic, fulfilling, and meaningful life.
READY TO BEGIN?

THE ARCHITECT OF DREAMS, STITCH BY STITCH ELIE SAAB
Elie Saab, the Lebanese couturier, has built a global empire on opulent elegance and meticulous craftsmanship. Renowned for his fairytale silhouettes, intricate embellishments, and red-carpet glamour, Saab’s designs embody timeless beauty, blending Eastern opulence with Western sophistication. His enduring vision continues to captivate and inspire.
In a world often dominated by fleeting trends and ephemeral aesthetics, there are figures who stand as bastions of enduring beauty and unwavering craftsmanship. Elie Saab is undoubtedly one such luminary. Hailing from the sun-drenched landscapes of Lebanon, Saab has, through sheer talent and an unyielding dedication to his vision, carved an indelible mark on the global fashion stage. His name has become synonymous with opulent elegance, fairytale silhouettes, and a meticulous attention to detail that borders on the divine. To wear an Elie Saab creation is not merely to don a garment; it is to step into a dream, to embody a vision of refined femininity that transcends the vagaries of fashion cycles.
Saab’s journey, like many great artistic narratives, began with an innate passion. Even as a young boy in Beirut, his fascination with fabrics and form was palpable. He would spend hours sketching, draping, and even crafting dresses for his sisters from tablecloths and curtains – early signs of a prodigious talent yearning for expression. This nascent creativity blossomed into a formal pursuit when, at the tender age of 18, he opened his first atelier in Beirut in 1982. Amidst the backdrop of a nation grappling with conflict, Saab’s
atelier became an oasis of beauty, a testament to the enduring power of artistry even in the most challenging of circumstances.
The early years were marked by relentless hard work and a deep understanding of the local clientele’s desires for sophisticated and glamorous attire. Saab’s designs quickly gained popularity, becoming a staple for Beirut’s elite. His innate understanding of the female form, coupled with a penchant for luxurious fabrics and intricate embellishments, set him apart. He understood that clothing was not just about covering the body; it was about enhancing confidence, celebrating beauty, and making a woman feel extraordinary.
The international breakthrough arrived in the late 1990s and early 2000s, catapulting Saab onto the global radar. His participation in Rome’s Alta Moda week in 1997 marked his entry into the exclusive realm of haute couture. However, it was the Academy Awards in 2002 that truly cemented his status as a designer to watch. Halle Berry, accepting her Oscar for Best Actress, shimmered in a breathtaking Elie Saab gown – a one-shoulder burgundy creation adorned with delicate floral embroidery. This iconic moment not only placed Berry on countless best-dressed lists but also introduced Saab’s unparalleled artistry to a global audience, instantly associating his name with red-carpet glamour and Hollywood royalty.
Since then, Elie Saab has become a red-carpet fixture, dressing countless A-listers for prestigious events. His designs have graced the figures of queens, princesses, and the most celebrated actresses, each gown a testament to his unwavering commitment to beauty and craftsmanship. Yet, Saab’s appeal extends far beyond the glittering lights of Hollywood. His creations resonate with women around the world who appreciate timeless elegance and exquisite detailing.
The signature Elie Saab aesthetic is instantly recognizable. It is a harmonious blend of Eastern opulence and Western sophistication. His designs often feature flowing silhouettes, cinched waists that accentuate the feminine form, and dramatic trains that exude grandeur. He masterfully employs luxurious fabrics such as silk, chiffon, and lace, often adorned with intricate beadwork, shimmering sequins, and delicate embroidery. Floral motifs are a recurring theme, reflecting a connection to nature and an appreciation for its inherent beauty.
Saab’s color palettes are often rich and evocative, ranging from soft pastels that whisper romance to vibrant jewel tones that command attention. His understanding of color and its ability to evoke emotion is profound, each hue carefully chosen to enhance the overall impact of the design.
Beyond the breathtaking aesthetics, there is a meticulous level of craftsmanship that underpins every Elie Saab creation. Each gown is a labor of love, painstakingly handcrafted by skilled artisans in his Beirut atelier. The intricate beadwork, the delicate lace appliqués, the perfectly draped fabrics – every detail is executed with precision and passion. This dedication to traditional couture techniques, combined with a modern sensibility, is what elevates Saab’s designs to the realm of wearable art.
“ELEGANCE IS NOT ABOUT BEING NOTICED, IT’S ABOUT BEING REMEMBERED”
Elie Saab’s influence extends beyond the realm of haute couture. He has successfully branched into ready-to-wear collections, bridal wear, accessories, and fragrances, each bearing the unmistakable hallmark of his elegant and sophisticated style. His ready-to-wear lines offer a more accessible interpretation of his design aesthetic, allowing a wider audience to experience the beauty and craftsmanship associated with his name. His bridal collections are the epitome of fairytale romance, transforming brides into ethereal visions on their special day. And his fragrances capture the essence of his glamorous world, offering olfactory journeys that are as captivating as his visual creations.
Despite his global success, Elie Saab remains deeply rooted in his Lebanese heritage. His Beirut atelier continues to be the heart of his creative operations, a testament to his commitment to his homeland and the skilled artisans who bring his visions to life. He has often spoken of the resilience and beauty of Lebanon, and his work can be seen as a celebration of its enduring spirit.
In a fashion landscape that often chases novelty, Elie Saab offers a refreshing consistency – a commitment to timeless elegance and unwavering beauty. He understands that true style transcends fleeting trends, and his creations are designed to be cherished for years to come. They are not just garments; they are heirlooms, imbued with the artistry and passion of their creator.
Elie Saab’s legacy is one of dreams made tangible, of beauty meticulously crafted, and of a vision that continues to inspire and captivate. He is an architect of dreams, stitching together threads of luxury and imagination to create moments of breathtaking beauty that will continue to grace red carpets and special occasions for generations to come. His work is a testament to the enduring power of beauty, a reminder that in a world often filled with noise, there is still a profound appreciation for the quiet elegance of exceptional craftsmanship and timeless style.
How to Set Boundaries Without Feeling Guilty
Saying “no” can also be an act of self-love. Learning to set boundaries without guilt is liberating, elegant, and empowering. It’s the most beautiful way to
protect your energy, your time, and your emotional well-being.
In a world that constantly demands our time, energy, and attention, learning to set boundaries can feel like a radical act of self-care. Yet, for many of us, the mere thought of saying “no” triggers a wave of guilt. We worry about disappointing others, being perceived as selfish, or missing out on opportunities. But here’s the truth: setting boundaries isn’t selfish—it’s essential for a healthy, balanced life.
Let’s explore how you can establish boundaries confidently, guilt-free, and with a sense of empowerment.
WHY BOUNDARIES MATTER
Boundaries are the invisible lines that protect your energy, emotions, and well-being. They’re not about building walls; they’re about creating space for what truly matters.
•Protect Your Time: Without boundaries, your schedule is at the mercy of others’ priorities.
•Preserve Your Energy: Constantly saying “yes” to others can leave you drained and resentful.
•Honor Your Values: Boundaries allow you to live in alignment with what’s most important to you. Setting boundaries is an act of self-respect that also teaches others how to treat you.
THE GUILT TRAP: WHY WE FEEL BAD ABOUT BOUNDARIES
Guilt often creeps in because we’ve been conditioned to prioritize others’ needs over our own.
•Cultural Expectations: Many cultures glorify self-sacrifice, especially for women.
•Fear of Conflict: We dread disappointing or upsetting others.
•People-Pleasing Tendencies: Saying “no” feels like a betrayal of our desire to be liked and accepted.
•But here’s the thing: guilt is often a sign that you’re growing. It means you’re stepping out of your comfort zone and reclaiming your power.
HOW TO SET BOUNDARIES WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY
REFRAME BOUNDARIES AS ACTS OF KINDNESS
Think of boundaries not as rejection but as a way to nurture healthier relationships. When you take care of yourself, you show up as your best self for others.
•Instead of: “I’m letting them down.”
•Think: “I’m honoring my needs so I can show up fully for what matters.”
GET CLEAR ON YOUR NON-NEGOTIABLES
What drains your energy? What makes you feel fulfilled? Understanding your priorities helps you define your boundaries.
•Examples of Non-Negotiables:
•No work emails after 8 PM.
•A daily hour for exercise or relaxation.
•Saying “no” to events that conflict with family time. Once you know your limits, it becomes easier to communicate them with confidence.
LEARN THE ART OF SAYING “NO” GRACEFULLY
Saying no doesn’t have to be harsh. Practice polite but firm responses.
•Example 1: “Thank you for thinking of me, but I can’t commit to that right now.”
•Example 2: “I really value our time together, but I need to rest this evening.”
•Example 3: “I’d love to help, but I have other priorities that need my attention.”
Keep it simple—no long explanations are required.
USE “I” STATEMENTS
When setting a boundary, focus on your needs rather than blaming others.
•Instead of: “You’re always demanding my time.”
•Say: “I need uninterrupted time to focus on my work in the mornings.”
This approach reduces defensiveness and encourages understanding.
EXPECT PUSHBACK, BUT STAND FIRM
Not everyone will immediately respect your boundaries, especially if they’re used to you always saying yes. Stay calm and consistent. Over time, they’ll adjust to the new dynamic.

PRACTICE SELF-COMPASSION
When guilt arises, remind yourself why you set the boundary in the first place. Journaling or affirmations can help.
•Affirmations to Try:
•“It’s okay to prioritize my needs.”
•“Setting boundaries helps me create a life I love.”
•“I deserve to be treated with respect.”
THE RIPPLE EFFECT OF HEALTHY BOUNDARIES
When you set boundaries, you inspire others to do the same. You become a model for self-respect and authenticity, creating deeper, more meaningful connections.
Remember: Boundaries aren’t about keeping people out; they’re about letting the right people in—the ones who respect and value you.
YOUR PERMISSION SLIP TO SET BOUNDARIES
This is your reminder that it’s okay to say no. It’s okay to protect your time and energy. It’s okay to set boundaries without guilt.
Your well-being isn’t negotiable—it’s the foundation of everything you give to the world. So, go ahead: draw those lines, stand firm, and watch as your life transforms in ways you never imagined.
You’ve got this.
“YOUR WELL-BEING ISN’T NEGOTIABLE— IT’S THE FOUNDATION OF EVERYTHING YOU GIVE TO THE WORLD.”
“WHEN YOU TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, YOU SHOW UP AS YOUR BEST SELF FOR OTHERS”
“I NEED UNINTERRUPTED TIME TO FOCUS ON MY WORK IN THE MORNINGS”

THE PATH TO SELF-REALIZATION
LIFE
CONNECTING WITH OUR INNER ESSENCE FOR A FULFILLING
In a world dominated by external noise, reconnecting with our essence becomes a revolutionary act. This inner guide redefines success: authenticity, peace, and purpose are the new keys to personal fulfillment.
SELF-REALIZATION
THE CALL OF OUR ESSENCE
In the frantic pace of modern life, many people feel an inexplicable emptiness, a disconnection from their purpose. This feeling is an invitation to look inward and reconnect with our essence. Self-realization is not a destination, but a continuous process of self-discovery that guides us toward a more authentic and meaningful life.
EXPLORING INNER WISDOM
Our inner essence is a wellspring of wisdom and clarity, often overshadowed by external distractions. Through practices like meditation and contemplation, we learn to listen to that inner voice. Studies have shown that regular meditation not only reduces stress but also enhances selfawareness and the ability to make decisions aligned with our values.
BREAKING INTERNAL BARRIERS
Often, limiting beliefs and learned patterns distance us from our true essence. Freeing ourselves from these barriers involves questioning the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and what we can achieve. This process of selfliberation allows us to discover new possibilities and live from a place of authenticity.
THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF SPIRITUAL CONNECTION
Connecting with something larger than ourselves—whether through nature, spirituality, or service to others— strengthens our relationship with our essence. The practice of gratitude, for example, has been shown to have a positive impact on emotional and physical wellbeing, helping us find meaning even in challenges.
LIVING FROM FULLNESS
Self-realization is not the absence of problems, but the ability to live fully despite them. By connecting with our essence, we find a peace that does not depend on external circumstances. This state of fulfillment allows us to enjoy each moment, embrace our authenticity, and share our light with the world. Living from our essence is a gift that transforms us and those around us.
HOW MANY DAYS SHOULD YOU WORK OUT FOR A TONED BODY?
Achieve a toned body training 4-5 days weekly. Prioritize strength (3-4 days) for muscle definition, add cardio (1-2 days) to burn fat, and include rest (1-2 days). Consistency and workout quality are key to success.
One of the most common questions I get as a trainer is, “How many days should I work out to get a toned body?” The truth is, there’s no magic number, but consistency is key. If your goal is to tone up and build a lean, defined physique, I recommend working out 4 to 5 days a week. This gives you enough time to target all major muscle groups while allowing for recovery, which is just as important as the workouts themselves.
HERE’S A BREAKDOWN THAT WORKS WELL:
be afraid to lift weights!

Strength Training: 3-4 days per week. Focus on resistance training to build lean muscle and burn fat. This includes exercises like squats, lunges, deadlifts, push-ups, and rows. I always say, muscle is what gives you that “toned” look, so don’t
Cardio: 1-2 days per week. Adding in some cardio will help boost fat loss and improve your endurance. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is my favorite because it’s quick and effective.
Rest Days: 1-2 days per week. Your body needs time to recover and rebuild those muscles. Take a rest day or do something light like yoga or a walk to stay active without overtraining.
Remember, it’s not just about how many days you’re in the gym—it’s also about what you’re doing when you’re there. Focus on quality workouts and push yourself during each session. With consistency and dedication, you’ll see the results and get that toned body you’re after!
