Draw Games™ Jackpot games, in particular in-state jackpot games, continued their success throughout the balance of Fiscal Year 2021. Idaho’s favorite game, Powerball, continued to lead all games in sales and popularity. Powerball’s largest jackpot reached $731.1 million in January 2021. Throughout the year, sixteen Idaho Lottery Powerball players came just one number away from winning the jackpot, claiming prizes from $50,000 up to $1,000,000. Powerball accounted for 41% of all Draw Games sales (largest for any single game), 7% of all Idaho Lottery sales for the year, and nearly 20% of this year’s dividend. The surprise hit of the Fiscal Year was the fourteenth edition of the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle which sold out in only 45 days, ending on December 4, 2020 – the earliest in the game’s history. With a $1.05 billion jackpot in January, Mega Millions recorded the single largest jackpot of the year and breached the billion-dollar mark for the third time in history. Mega Millions also had a half-billion-dollar jackpot run in the spring. During the year, the Idaho Lottery added two complementary games to its already robust collection of in-state and national jackpot Draw Games. Adding to the Lottery’s portfolio was the introduction of the twice-daily, sold in Idaho-only game Pick 4 in January 2021 and the regional Draw Game 2by2 in April. Pick 4 is a numbers game and plays similar to Pick 3, only with a fourth number. Pick 4 also offers the Sum it up! feature. Players can win up to $50,000 by matching four numbers and including Sum it up! One lucky player did just that early March 2021.
