Director’s Message
Jeffrey R. Anderson
Idaho Lottery Director
Dear Friends,
I remember July 2020 as a time of great uncertainty. We were all experiencing tension caused by the global pandemic. Business planning was complicated by significant changes in how we all live, work, and play. At the time, we hoped for the best but planned for continued challenges.
Team Lottery rose to meet the demanding challenges of customer expectations, and delivered $72,500,000 to the People of the Gem State, the largest annual dividend in our 32-year history. Driven largely by sales of Scratch Games and Idaho’s Favorite Game, Powerball, our dividends rose by an unprecedented 31 percent and pushed our total returns over one billion dollars.
Utilizing their entire Idaho Lottery dividend, the Nampa School District completely replaced the aged cooling system at Iowa Elementary. ACCO Engineered Systems of Idaho installed 42 new air conditioning units, two large compressors, and a new environmental management system, providing a comfortable learning environment for many years ahead.
Every play pays. Idaho Lottery influence reaches deep into 165 communities in the Gem State. We impact local businesses who deliver our tickets, media outlets who share our good news, general contractors and builders who make dreams a reality with Lottery dividends, and our essential network of brick-andmortar retailers who earn millions in revenues by serving Idahoans.
The Idaho Lottery is about building a better Idaho. Thank you to our retail partners, our game vendors, and all who voluntarily participate in our games. Our Do Good accomplishments would not be possible without you. Thanks a Billion, Idaho, for 32 great years!
