Slow Fashion vs. Fast Fashion - Grade 10

As part of their interdisciplinary project “Slow fashion vs Fast fashion”, and after welcoming a guest speaker and visiting the social enterprise Fabric Aid, students of grade 10 Lebanese program and CPP further researched about fast fashion and slow fashion in French, as well as the impact of fast fashion on the environment in chemistry

Under the IC Responsibility initiative and the environmental sustainability program, and after winning the final round of the GISS competition and showcasing their projects at the Global Innovation Sustainability Summit that took place in Qatar in March 2023, our “Zeit w Saboon” team met with with Mr. John McCarthy, member of IC’s Board of Trustees and member of the Earth Prize and economy. They implemented an awareness campaign about this topic and showcased their projects in the hall of the second floor at Rockefeller. To crown their project, students will implement a “slow” fashion show in collaboration with the activities department in the secondary school.

Foundation, in the presence of IC’s VP for Academic Affairs Mrs. Paula Mufarrij and the Director of the ERC Mr. Mahmud Shihab. Yasmina and Chelsea presented their project to Mr. McCarthy, who was impressed by their creative and innovative idea and who encouraged them to participate in next year’s edition of the Earth Prize competition.
