History for Kids Book Series

work and gave feedback in terms of language and structure. Once the books were finalized, and in preparation to visit the public schools, a simulation session occurred in collaboration with the Service Learning department and the Ali Ghandour Center (AGC). AGC students visited Grade 7 classes and guided students on how to implement the Read Aloud activity at the public schools. Then, grade 7 students visited two public schools in Beirut to read their books and explain the different civilizations in an interactive way. In return, public school students shared what they also learn in history throughout the year. This project is an opportunity to introduce students to prominent people and events of the past in an engaging, easy-to-read format. It also gives them the chance to interact with their local community and make a positive impact.

The “History for Kids Book Series” is a Social Studies project that has been launched in MSRB Grade 7 classes at the beginning of the academic year 2022-2023. Students wrote history books about different civilizations (The Roman, Byzantine, and Muslim) they learned about throughout the year.
