Sharing the Planet KGI End of Unit Celebration



KG1 proudly celebrated their learning at the end of the unit “Sharing the Planet.” They got the chance to present what they had learned throughout the unit by highlighting different learning experiences that added to their understanding of the importance of plants in our life. The KG1 students demonstrated the attributes of inquisitive researchers and responsible, knowledgeable learners. They shared how they took action towards the end of the unit by initiating an awareness campaign for people to help preserve our planet Earth. They then held a small sale with all the plant-based products they experimented with and created, explaining how they went about the process and its significance.

Grade 1/CP End of Unit Celebration: Celebrations Around the World
Our recent end of unit celebration was a true celebration of diversity and internationalmindedness. This special event marked the end of our unit on “Celebrations around the World” and provided our students with an opportunity to showcase their learning and achievements throughout the year.
The celebration began with a delightful performance by our Grade 1/CP students on stage. They captivated the audience with their vibrant dances and enchanting songs, all inspired by major celebrations around the world: Cinco De
Mayo, Kwanza, Diwali, Chinese New Year…
The performances were not only a joy to watch but also an excellent way for our young learners to immerse themselves in different cultural traditions learning about the values, customs, and significance of these celebrations.
In addition to the performances, our Grade 1/CP PYP learners proudly presented their research and work on various aspects of celebrations around the world. From informative posters to creative art projects, they shared their newfound knowledge and understanding with their parents.
Grade 2/CE1 End of Unit Celebration: Exploring Lebanese Culture and Heritage
The Grade 2/CE1 end of unit celebration for the “Where We Are in Place and Time” unit was an absolute hit! Our PYP learners demonstrated their deep understanding of the Lebanese culture and heritage through an engaging play, mesmerizing songs, and captivating dances. It was a remarkable event that showcased not only their knowledge but also their appreciation for the rich history and traditions of Lebanon. The celebration allowed our students to bring to life the fascinating story of Lebanese independence, shedding light on the historical events and significance behind this milestone in their nation’s history.
Grade 3/CE2 End of Unit Celebration: Embracing Diversity through Art and Culture
The Grade 3/CE2 end of unit celebration for “How We Express Ourselves” was a vibrant and inspiring event that showcased the true essence of international mindedness and cultural diversity. Through songs, dances, and informative presentations, our young learners brought to life the rich artistic traditions and cultures of Russia, Brazil, and Cuba.
Our talented students took the stage with confidence and enthusiasm, captivating the audience with their synchronized movements and melodious voices.
In addition to the mesmerizing performances, our students took on the role of researchers and presenters, sharing their findings about the Russian, Brazilian, and Cuban cultures. They delved into the history, traditions, art forms, and even famous artists of each country, presenting their knowledge with confidence and enthusiasm and demonstrating their dedication to global awareness and respect for cultural diversity.
Grade 4/CM1 End of Unit Celebration: Exploring the Wonders of the Human Body
The Grade 4/CM1 end of unit celebration on the human body systems was an incredible showcase of our PYP learners’ research skills, knowledge, and inquisitive minds. With confidence and enthusiasm, our students presented their findings and shared their understanding of the digestive, circulatory, respiratory, skeletal, and muscular systems, leaving the audience in awe of their expertise.
With well-prepared presentations, our PYP learners confidently showcased their knowledge and findings about each body system. Their explanations were articulate and well-reasoned, reflecting their grasp of complex scientific concepts.
By presenting their research, our Grade 4/CM1 students not only demonstrated their mastery of the subject matter but also showcased their inquiry and communication skills that will serve them well through their learning journey.
The culmination of our Grade 5/CM2’s educational journey, the PYP Exhibition was a resounding success, leaving parents brimming with pride as their children took the stage to present their remarkable learning journey. The exhibition showcased the depth of their inquiries, the actions they took to make a positive impact in the world, and their growth as internationally minded students and global citizens. Through the collaborative efforts of students, teachers and parents, engaging presentations and creative displays were on show as our learners demonstrated their understanding of transdisciplinary concepts and how they applied their learning across different subject areas. It was a powerful illustration of the interconnectivity of knowledge and the impact of a holistic approach to education.
What made the exhibition even more extraordinary was the use of various approaches to learning skills. Our Grade 5/CM2 students seamlessly incorporated research, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration into their presentations. They exemplified the attributes of being inquirers, thinkers, risk takers and communicators, showing their ability to navigate complex issues and convey their ideas effectively. Through their actions, our students have shown us that age is not a barrier to making a difference and that they have the power to shape a better future for themselves and the world.
As we bid farewell to our Grade 5/CM2 students, we are filled with excitement for their future endeavors. The PYP Exhibition has prepared them for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, equipping them with the necessary skills and mindset to thrive in their educational journey.

Grade 4 Poetry Cafe: A Magical Showcase!

Our own Elementary School Grade 4 students recently hosted a captivating Poetry Cafe in the library and music room. As a culmination of the writing unit on poetry, they impressed parents with their heartfelt poems, while the teachers’ hard work ensured a seamless event. It was a celebration of our learners’ acuity of communication skills through self-expression, showcasing their creativity, and leaving a lasting impact on all.

Field Day
La journée sportive à l’école élémentaire de RasBeyrouth eu lieu au mois de mai. C’était une véritable réussite, réunissant les élèves dans une ambiance de camaraderie et de divertissement.
Dès le matin, les enfants ont investi le terrain vert de l’école, impatients de participer aux différentes activités prévues. Le ballon sauteur a été un véritable succès, avec des sauts acrobatiques et des éclats de rire remplissant l’air. Le jeu de parachute a créé un sentiment d’unité alors que tous les participants se sont rassemblés pour former une grande toile multicolore. Les quilles ont testé l’adresse de chacun, tandis que la course de relais aquatique a apporté une touche rafraîchissante à la journée. Le tir à la corde a suscité une compétition amicale, avec des équipes s’affrontant dans une démonstration de force et de détermination. Le jeu de fer à cheval a montré la précision des participants, tandis que le Limbo a dévoilé des contorsions étonnantes et des mouvements gracieux. Les courses de sacs de pommes de terre et de cuillères à œufs ont été marquées par des moments de glissades et de maladresses, provoquant des fous rires contagieux. Enfin, la course de chaises musicales a créé une excitation palpable alors que les participants se sont précipités pour trouver une place libre lorsque la musique s’est arrêtée. La journée sportive à l’école a été un véritable festin d’activités physiques, où les élèves ont pu se dépasser, se divertir et créer des souvenirs durables. Cette journée restera gravée dans les mémoires comme un moment de partage, de camaraderie et de célébration de l’esprit sportif au sein de notre école.
