FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE

First Year Experience (FYE) is a program that supports learners with their transition to college through Peer Mentoring, Social Events, Strong Start Workshops and Financial Literacy Workshops. We provide learners with access to information and services, opportunities to get involved, meet new people, build relationships and create a sense of community.
Programs And Initatives
FYE Peer Mentoring: The program matches first year learners with a Mentor who is an upper-year learner Peer Mentors offer support by answering questions as well as providing information about the services, resources and events available on campus
Social Events: We host events to support learners with getting involved in the college community, meet other learners, and foster a sense of community
Strong Start Workshops: These workshops introduce new learners to campus programs, services and resources Session topics include College 101, We Got You, Finding Balance, Projects and Exams, and Getting Involved on Campus
Financial Literacy Workshops: Designed to increase the financial success of learners
Session topics include Student Banking, Budgeting, Understanding Credit, Taxes, and Investments
