The Health Centre provides a variety of services for learners including immunization and clearance for clinical placement, crisis support, sexual health counselling, and first aid care for issues such as burns and cuts Learners also have access to physicians and a psychiatrist for all their health needs Reasons to seek medical care may include diagnosing and treatment of an illness, managing a chronic condition, addressing injuries, seeking expert advice on health concerns, and obtaining a prescription for medication
Learners can access Health Centre’s services by calling the Student Wellness and Accessibility (SWAC) phone number at 416-675-6622 ext 5090 (North) or ext 3331 (Lakeshore) and make an appointment Please note, services are provided by appointment only If a student is in crisis, they can directly visit the Health Center and can be seen by a nurse between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm
Programs And Initiatives
One of the key programs the Health Centre offers is completing pre-placement medical requirements for programs that require placement clearance
The Health Center promote safe sex practices by offering free access to male condoms, dental dam, diaphragms and birth control counselling
