ACCESSIBLE LEARNING SERVICES

Accommodation Letters

Learners can register with ALS year-round. To register, learners meet with a professionally trained Accessibility Consultant who assesses whether the learner is encountering disabilityrelated barriers in the learning environment Faculty should expect to receive Accommodation Letters throughout the semester and academic year Additional supports that may be recommended after a learner registers with ALS

The Accommodation Letter outlines accommodations a learner requires, such as additional time for tests and exams and/or extensions on assignments, to fully participate in the learning environment Faculty seeking general assistance or with questions pertaining to implementing accommodations in their courses can connect with the ALS team member listed on the accommodation letter

Humber College Faculty

Faculty receive an email notification alerting them to view Accommodation Letters on the ALS Faculty Portal Alternatively, learners can choose to manage distribution of their Accommodation Letter to faculty independently In this case, the Accommodation Letter will not be available on the ALS Faculty Portal

UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH-HUMBER FACULTY

Faculty receive Accommodation Letters via an email from the Faculty Support Officer or from the learner directly Accommodation Letter are not available on the ALS Faculty Portal

Work Integrated Learning

Learners in Work Integrated Learning placement receive a Field Experience/Placement Accommodation Letter Accommodation letters are provided to the program by the learner or Accessibility Consultant and are not available on the ALS Faculty Portal
