Texoma sales tax report Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced last Thursday he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.07 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, 7.6 percent more than in January 2022. Sherman and Howe took big jumps in sales tax gains by 34.10% and 22.38%, respectively. Denison, however, saw a loss of 15.22% and Van Alstyne saw a decrease of 6.65%.

Gainesville saw a jump of 18.91 percent as they are settling in with new Economic Development President William Myers who served as Denison’s VP of Economic Development for many years. The biggest gainer in the area is Melissa who is growing by leaps and bounds. They saw an increase of 45.79% over January 2022 by racking in $586,065.61.
