Olivia Morris named HHS Drum Major You might recall a few weeks ago we told the story of Talan Haley and Colton Little out-dueling their HHS golf coaches in a best-ball match. Rumor has it the high schoolers want a best 2-of-3. ***** The owner of this publication will be speaking at to the Grayson County Conservatives Tuesday at 6:30 pm at 903 Brewers. The topic will be “Truth in Media” which is kind of an oxymoron. If you’ve ever wanted to boo or hiss our work in person, your day has finally arrived. ***** The Howe Area Chamber of Commerce is putting together a week-long celebration for the town’s 150th Anniversary. The sesquicentennial celebration is to include an event each night beginning Monday, Sept. 12 and finishing off with the Friday night homecoming football game at Bulldog Stadium. For those who would like to participate in the planning and organizing of the event, please contact Monte Walker at mwalker@cityofhowe.org. ***** Growing up with Gayle Skipworth at your ballgames was quite the experience. She wasn’t shy to express her opinion. No one could turn “Jay” into three syllables quite like Mrs. Skipworth. We love her and will miss her and we pray for our good friend Jay and his family. ***** MUST READ by Naomi Wolf.
