Howe Fire Department works major semi fire on US Highway 75

The Howe Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a major vehicle accident north bound 75 at 1417 with a semi on fire around 5:12 pm on Monday, August 9. HFD assisted Sherman Fire - Rescue by providing water supply and manpower. About an hour after being on scene, they were asked to go to another car fire in Sherman. Courtesy photos.

speech to those on-hand. “Me and Bert go back a long way. Our youngest started school together and graduated together,” said Stanley. “I appreciate Bert and the stuff that he’s done for the city. I’ve just enjoyed working with you all these years.”

He was given a plaque that read, “In appreciation for your service and dedication to the City of Howe, 2002-2021.” Dowlen gave a speech and thanked everyone his fellow employees and said he was looking forward to life afterwards. He specifically thanked Howe Police Chief Carl Hudman and the police department as well as all the public works department workers.
