Area chamber leaders meet to plan 2020 combined events

Four local chambers of commerce representatives from Melissa, Anna, Van Alstyne, and Howe met last week to discuss the 2020 Interurban Alley MultiChamber Luncheon schedule. The luncheons have always been held at Hurricane Creek in Anna, however, Howe Chamber Representative Monte Walker requested their luncheon be held at the newly renovated Summit Gardens in Howe on May 19, 2020 from 11:30 am to 1 pm.

The school administration has taken action and is continuing to investigate statements made. The Howe ISD Police and City of Howe PD were notified and will respond accordingly under the law. Howe Middle School is taking the reports seriously and will continue to work towards a safe school environment. Wilson made the following statement to the Herald Democrat, “We’re doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We take all threats seriously and do a thorough investigation. If we ever determine that there is an an immediate danger, we will take action. But in these cases, we feel like we’ve responded in way that has maintained a safe environment.” In true fashion in today’s time, parents blitzed social media with comments—some in favor of how the ISD handled the situation swiftly and calmly, while others had a fervor for a need of direct and exact information about the incident.
