When I got home, every news station was playing the horrific scene of each tower being struck, and subsequently collapsing. As a kid, it was hard to imagine why something like this would happen. It also made us question if this would happen again and how this would affect the country. Fear and uncertainty was felt by everyone around us. It was truly the most tragic event I had experienced in my lifetime, seeing the massive loss of life and destruction caused by truly evil men. I will never forget that day. Monday, September 16, 2019 Continued from page 3 news and sat in disbelief as the first plane hit the North Tower. I went to my parents house in Sherman and watched the second plane hit and was watching when the towers came down. I went to work that day thinking we were at war, and as the day went was fairly sure of it. The cell towers were down, there was no air traffic, except for the occasional military jets or helicopters. I didn’t have a radio in the truck I was in and figured when I got back I may need to take up arms against an enemy I haven’t even seen yet. However, this was home and “they” had just hit America in the mouth, and I could feel the pain. It was the strangest feeling I have ever had and hope I never have it again.

The K-2nd grade Howe Bulldogs (3-1) beat Wolfe City, 27-6 on Saturday. Easton Ganow rushed for three touchdowns and Eli Espitia rushed for another. Austyn Navidad and Elijah Willoughby ran in the extra points to complete the
scoring. The defense held strong again on Saturday only allowing one score. Colt Key recovered a fumble for the Bulldogs.
Howe 3rd and 4th lose to Blue Ridge

The 3rd and 4th grade Howe Bulldogs (2-2) took a hard 25-19 loss on Saturday to Blue Ridge. The Bulldogs did not go down without a fight, pushing the game into overtime. Samantha Fuhr had a recovery and eight tackles for the Bulldogs. Luke Ellison continued to hold Blue Ridge Tigers off with three sacks and multiple tackles. Deacon Bender put seven points
up for the Bulldogs as well as having five tackles. Caden Crosson caught a 20-yard pass to run in for a touchdown. Kaiden Thomas also ran in a touchdown for Bulldogs. The players will be back next week playing at home against Wolfe City. Come out to support this band of brothers and sister!
Howe 5th and 6th Bulldogs lose, 27-6 Howe's 5th and 6th grade Bulldogs (1-3) lost to Leonard Saturday by a score of 27-6. The highlight of the day was Garrett Rodgers' 45-yard touchdown on the first play from
scrimmage. Howe will travel to Wolfe City Saturday to to face Tom Bean at noon.
