In tradition, HMS holds cookout

Howe Middle School Principal Clay Wilson cooked burgers and hot dogs once again at what has been a tradition to hold a cookout for First Responders on Sept. 11.

"This is very cool, and the kids really get into it and they enjoy talking to the First Responders," said Wilson. "I think the First Responders enjoy it was well. They get to interact with the kids."

Howe native honored by Texas governor with Star of Texas Award

Troy Allison of Howe was honored along with 15 others from North Texas last week by Texas Governor Greg Abbott with a Star of Texas Award

The award goes to police officers, firefighters, and first responders who were seriously injured or killed in the line of duty
