Harvey sets new high

Howe's Ally Harvey named to the TABC All-Region team Bulldogs bit by two Tigers The Howe Bulldogs varsity baseball team dropped two games this week. On Tuesday they squandered a 5-0 lead en route to a 16-10 loss at Whitewright. The game was tied at seven with Whitewright batting in the bottom of the fifth when Tigers hitter Mangrum doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs. Despite the loss, Howe collected 13 hits including doubles by Dylan Hughs, Garret Johnson, and Lane Stracener. Kyler Anderson and Stracener each drove in two runs in the loss. Arturo Lowder pitched the first 2-plus innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits. He struck out one and walked two. He was followed by Hughs who went two innings, allowing one earned run five hits. The damage was done against Mason Riggs who allowed seven earned runs on five hits and three walks.

What a week for Ally Harvey. Once known as "Riley's little sister", Ally has made quite the name for herself all on her own. The 6'2 junior post in basketball was named to the All-Region team by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Harvey led the Lady Bulldogs with 324 point, averaging 11.4 points per game. She also led Howe in rebounds with 238 which was good enough for 7.9 per game. She also led Howe in blocked shots (54) and steal (55).

Parker Pecina and Ayden Norton were dynamic on Tuesday with Burnett having the big hits at the plate. On Friday, Layton Elvington and Kolby Windon combined for the win with Gage Streetman and Pecina each driving in a pair of runs.

Lady Bulldogs lose to Whitewright

The Howe Lady Bulldogs (0-6) continued to struggle last week On Friday, Howe took an early 3-1 with a 16-1 loss at Whitewright. lead on Blue Ridge in the first Cassidy Anderson started and inning, but a 6-run second turned finished in the circle with 3.1 out to be enough as the Tigers innings pitched.
