Sierra Copeland (21) rips down a rebound Tuesday night in the Lady Bulldogs win over Leonard. Michelle Carney/Howe Enterprise. leading scorer in much of Howe's games. Copeland has recently relieved some of that pressure which gives the team, from the opponents view, dangerous matchup issues. If you're looking for a blockout master that can shell three-pointers, her name is Cassidy Anderson. They also have a ball-handler in Calley Vick is quick enough to keep the ball pushing forward. Every team needs a stoic field captain that leads by example and Molly Wilson fits that role as well as any. Championship caliber teams don't only have just a few good players, but they also must possess a deep bench full of talent and unselfishness. The final piece of the championship caliber puzzle is to have someone who can mix and match the unique qualities, shake, stir, and blend them to the highest capacity and turn them loose. The Lady Bulldogs are coached by Derek Lands who recently recorded his 400th win overall in coaching and most coming in Howe. Lands possesses all of the parts one would need for a deep run, and with the emergence of Copeland, the run could be longer than first anticipated.
Copeland's 20 led Howe in points with Anderson right behind her with 14. Other scorers were Honore (10), Harvey (8), Vick (2), Agee (2), and Wilson (2).

Harvey was also in double-digits in rebounds with 14. On Friday night in Bonham, Howe raced out to a 17-12 lead after the first and held a 27-10 halftime edge. It was more of the same from earlier in the week as Harvey and Copeland dominated the paint while the guards played outstanding defense. Anderson hit two huge 3-pointers and while may have only recorded one rebound, she continually blocked out the lane clearing a path for teammates to come up with the easy grab. Harvey was 11-for-17 on the night leading Howe at 64 percent from the field. She also led Howe in points with 22. Copeland followed right behind her with 16 points and led with 13 rebounds. The Lady Bulldogs dominated the third period with an 18-3 run to put the game out of reach of the Lady Warriors. A fourth quarter coast saw the final score come to 58-33 and a district record come to a perfect 6-0. Behind Harvey and Copeland in points were Anderson (11), Gianna Henry (4), Honore (3), and Katie Grogan (2).
Tuesday's game was slowmoving in the first period with Howe clinging to an 8-6 lead Howe will at Whitewright Tuesday after the initial quarter. But a night. The Lady Tigers are 1-5 in combination of great defense by district play. Anderson and offensive play by Copeland, Howe soared to a 2610 lead at the half. The surge of the second initially began with a Jenna Honore 3-pointer that gave Howe a 15-8 lead. In the second half, Leonard pulled within 11 points of Howe at the 3:41 mark in the third and again with :25 remaining in the period, but Honore finished with a free throw and a buzzer-beater to push the Howe lead to 35-21 to enter the fourth. The fourth period was all about the "Wonder Twins" of Copeland and Harvey who scored the Lady Bulldogs' first nine buckets in the quarter. Anderson and Marissa Agee were the only other scorers in the frame as Howe finished on a 23-12 run to secure the win.
