Howe High School held "Stay Drug-free" promotion Howe High School participated in Red Ribbon Week by bringing the dangerous effects of drug and alcohol awareness to our students during the days of Oct. 23 - Oct. 31. Multiple raffles and random number draws took place, in which students received prizes as a way to encourage them to remain drugfree. Additionally, each day students were given a theme that they could fashion their outfit around. Tuesday was “Travel Drug Free,” Wednesday was “Dressing Smart – Making Smart Choices on my Life’s Journey,” Thursday was
“My Future is Great without Drugs,” Friday was “Hunt the Tigers,” Monday was “Crush Out Drugs,” Tuesday was “Do Vines, Not Drugs!” and Wednesday was “Drugs Are a Thing of the Past.” Both students and staff participated.

HHS Student organizations recognized at school board meeting
Several organizations were recognized by the school board last Monday night. Dianne Teafatiller recognized 14 students that passed the Career Preparedness Certification test in Business Technology. Band Director Angie Liss recognized three band members that used their creativity to make props.
Robotics instructor Sam Wingate gave a glowing presentation about the robotics class who have performed greatly at various competitions. Howe FFA instructor Tracy Blum introduced to the board a number of FFA students that will be advanced to the area contest from the district meet held in Bells recently.
