Bulldogs finish on high note by knocking off Gunter, 52-51

them somewhat of a healthy sixpoint lead at 35-29 heading into the final stanza. However, Gunter went on a push, scoring 22 points in the fourth while Howe scored 17, just enough to fend off the Tigers and hold on for the onepoint victory.
Senior Brandon Wall finished by leading the team with 15 points. Wall was one of four Bulldogs to finish in double-digits as Ty Harvey added 12, Elijah Cambell netted 11 and Seith Seibold scored 10.
Tyler Hawkins also added four points to the total.

The Howe Bulldogs varsity baseball team is off to a good start in the first two scrimmages of the season. Howe took down Pilot Point, 18-8 before defeating the alumni team on Friday night. Returing all-state outfielder Brennan Ross drove in three runs from his leadoff spot in the first scrimmage against Pilot Point. Peyton Reagan led the team with three hits while Jaden Matthews scored four runs thanks in part to three walks.
Senior Tanner Hartsfield threw two innings, giving up one run and striking out four, while sophomore Mason Riggs duplicated his performance in relief. In the alumni game, Easton Ross had a multi-hit game while Josh Griffin and Griffin Underwood were effective on the mound. The oldest alumni players were James Fulenchek (rf), Monte Walker (1b). The alumni were defeated, but an official score was not kept.
