Bulldogs bow out of playoffs after late inning rally by Bowie

The Bulldogs (12-15) landed a playoff spot for the second time in three seasons. The first round played at Argyle saw a matchup with District 9-3A Champion Bowie Jackrabbits. The last time Howe opened up a playoff game, they had Garrett Fulenchek on the mound. This time it was Stratton Carroll's turn to toe the hill. Carroll went all six innings giving up five earned runs on 10 hits, walking four and striking out five in his 107 pitches. Chandler Dean for Bowie was extremely impressive with nine strikouts in seven innings of work, allowing only one earned run. Howe's lone run in game one came Carroll helped himself out with an RBI double scoring Griffin Underwood in the top of the sixth inning. Howe would end up losing game one by a score of 6-1. In game two, Howe would fight for their playoff lives and pull out a 7-5 win behind Underwood's seven innings. While he gave up 14 hits, he struck out seven and only walked two and allowing five earned runs.

Hardee was tough on Howe allowing only two earned runs on six hits in seven innings. He only walked one batter. Howe's David Crees went four innings, allowing two earned runs, walking four and giving up seven hits. Griffin would pitch four innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out three. Howe's baseball MVP Brennan Ross went 2 for 4 in the team's last game.
