SMUDGING OUT THE BAD VIBES Scientific Study: Smudging proves to do a lot more than “clear evil spirits”
E
ven if the word ‘smudging’ does not ring the bells of familiarity in your ears, almost every major religion, and that includes Catholicism, has a ritual that is similar to smudging. Smudging is the ritual process by which smokes from certain purifying herbs are used to fumigate and purify the space the smoke fills. The purifying is either done to rid the space toxins, or to rid the space of spiritual pollutants or
negative energies. The ritual of smudging was practiced by our ancestors for centuries. The ritual among the Native Americans was called the Sacred Smoke Bowl Blessing. Nowadays, the process has been made even simpler for those who are interested; there are ready-made smudging bunches available, that you can burn and use. In regards to the discussion about whether smudging really removes negativity or does the act just make
one subconsciously more positive, in order to have faith in the smudging is mute. Does it really matter, as long as the practitioner experiences a more positive outlook after the experience? A study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology studied smudging methods from more than 50 cultures. They found out that smoke as a delivery system was a far more ancient ritual than they thought and that it could address neurological, dermatological and pulmonary concerns. Not to mention, it was quite effective at removing airborne disease-causing germs too. As a matter of fact:

Is the ritual of removing negative energy only a rhetoric our cultural ancestors chose to explain the fact that this fumigation technique profoundly and positively affected our physical wellbeing? As we prepare to kiss 2018 goodbye let’s reflect on all the lessons this year has taught us. Here’s to the top 10 f-ed up moment’s of 2018….so far. Bill CosbyBlack America witnessed the public lynching of our favorite TV dad, Bill Cosby. To those who never grew up with a father, we were hurt and devastated to discover our perfect TV dad was a damn sexual predator. Tent City- Child detention centers established to detain immigrant children has got to be one of the most sinister ploys of the year. To make add insult to injury, these children are alone, after having been

stripped away from family, some have to experience sexual abuse in these centers. The number of immigrant children in these centers are increasing drastically. Kanye West2018 we witnessed the complete and total meltdown of Kanye West. This year Yeezy kept up scratching our heads in confusion. From the poopty-scoop song to the awkward meeting with Donald Trump,

Earlier this year, I produced a 45-minute grassroot film, “Legba, Christ, and the Crossroads” on two cellphones (lol), and I am preparing to release a minibook next month, “Kwanzaa for the Kosmos.” My all new Youtube Channel, (I know I’m soo late) will feature my Prophetic Book of
Sunrays, and my Poetic Book of Moonbeams, which are spiritual teachings and poetry readings from the pages of my diaries. I also give daily general tarot messages on my Instagram TV. WHO ORDAINED YOUR PRIESTESS DEGREE?
Words like ‘ordained’ resonate more with Christianic Theology academia, like the word ‘degree.’ The proper term used for officially coming into any system of African Spirituality is ‘initiated.’ It resonates more with our
traditional rites of passage.
HOW IS ONE CHOSEN?
Hmmm...I would say it is a literal essence of being called by the spiritual powers that be, beyond any earthly qualifications. In my case, I came to discover that I am, in fact, a fourth generation seer from both sides of my family, and all events in my life, along with my cosmic blueprint, provided undeniable proof that I became a priestess of Oya simply because I was born to do so. All initiated have the same revelation, I believe. We come to discover that every experience in our lives groomed us for the path. Perhaps some things are just built in….
