“Get down!“ said the old man “Why should I listen to you? I don’t even know you,“ said Randy. The old man responded and said, “Because I know what’s best for you, and you’re going to get hurt if you don’t get down from that tree,“ Randy lived across the street from the old man. They lived in the countryside of Alabama. Randy enjoyed

playing outside. His family was never really around, so the old man would sit on his

front porch watching Randy play in woods. He loved to climb trees, but the old man told him not to because he would end up getting hurt one day. Randy continued to climb the trees, but soon enough he will regret not listening to the old man. The following day, Randy and the old man are having a conversation about what was said yesterday evening. “How come you don’t want me climbing the tree?” “I thought that’s what trees were made for. Old man do you hear me?” said Randy “Children these days aren’t built like we were back then. Yall act out of stupidity,” said the old man with an arrogant tone of voice. “I don’t understand what you mean,” said the six year old, Randy.

The old man thought to himself that maybe Randy finally took his advice about not fooling around and playing in that tree like he told him not too. So as the days passed, the old man was standing in front of his screen door instead of him sitting on his fronch porch like he usually would he was watching to see what Randy was doing while he would be inside his home then all of sudden he seen the hard-headed young boy go towards the tree thinking that the old man was just inside his home and wouldn't know what he was doing outside. Randy tried to sneak to the tree, being the simple-minded young child that he was without looking around he decided to start playing around including climbing the tree which he knew he shouldn't be doing. Without a doubt, Randy was climbing and climbing the tree, and then Boom! One of the branches broke that he was climbing up on broke. He had climbed at least four feet off the ground. Randy was still climbing and climbing then another branch broke off his feet started to dangle and he was hanging on to the last branch tightly.

Once the old man got to where Randy was he saw that he was laying down unconscious. The old man started to panic so he rushed back to his home to call 911. While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, the old man called up Randy’s family to let him know what happened but nobody answered the phone. Finally after twenty minutes, the ambulance arrived to pick up Randy. The old man decided to catch a ride on the ambulance so that Randy won’t be alone. As they waited for a room, the old man continued to try and call his family but it seemed that nobody seemed to care for Randy. The old man started to realize that he was all that Randy had, that nobody else cared for him not even his own family. After five minutes of waiting, Randy finally got into a room. The nurses and doctors had him hooked up to all kinds of machines to make sure everything was working properly with Randy, but then the doctor came into the room. The doctor told the old man that Randy was unconscious and they wouldn't know when he was going to wake up. ̈ ̈Randy get up!” said the old man to the unconscious boy. After seven weeks the old man was still sitting in the hospital waiting for Randy to wake up. The Old man was sitting by the bed holding his hand praying that he will wake up and be okay.

After a couple more weeks Randy finally woke up asking the old man who he was and why he was here and where is his family at. So the old man had to tell Randy the truth about his family. ̈ ̈Well I tried to contact them but no ever answered,̈ said the Old man The old man started to question the doctor about why randy didn’t remember anything. So the doctor came in and shut the door quietly. ̈ ̈Well we have some bad news here Randy is suffering a bad case of amnesia,̈ said the Doctor to the old man. The old man replied in distressed tone ¨I don't understand what you mean.” Randy had fell so hard that he had forgotten about everything he ever learned from half of his lifetime. Randy and the old man began to pack up his stuff so he could leave, but as soon as they were about to walk out the doctor stopped them. ̈ ̈Excuse me, sir, you can't leave yet Randy has to stay and go through therapy to recover his lost memory,” said the Doctor.
