SPORTS Dr. K.C.G. Verghese Memorial Trophy
Hindustan Basketball Men's Team
Dr. K.C.G. Verghese Memorial Trophy and the 28th State Level Inter College Basketball Tournament for Men & Women was organized between 6 and 9 April 2019. Mr. Aravind Annadurai, International Basketball Player and Ms. M. Adhirai, International Basketball Player presided over the Valedictory Function as Chief
Guest and Guest of Honour. SRM Institute of Technology and Science and Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science bagged the Championship under Men and Women category respectively. Winners were lauded with Trophy, Cash Prize, and Certificates of Merit.

Inter Department Sports Fest and Annual Sports Meet was organized by The School of Physical Education & Sports on 28 March 2019. Various competitions under Inter Department Sports Fest for students & staff were conducted since 15 February 2019. Shri. Chandra Shekar, Arjuna Awardee and International Table Tennis Player was the Chief Guest; and
Shri. M. Mukesh Lal, International Volleyball Player was the Guest of Honour for the Valedictory Function. Winners of various Individual and Team events under Men and Women category were honoured with Medals and Certificates. The Overall Championship of 2019 Annual Sports Meet was bagged by the School of Management.
A 12-member basketball players accompanied by two coaches visited China to participate in the Intercontinental Basketball tournament held at SIAS University, Zhengzhou, China between 12 and 20 May 2019. The tournament provided Team HITS an opportunity to interact with Team SIAS; and also with players from Xu Heng School, Zhengzhou through friendly matches. In 3 matches played against SIAS University, HITS and SIAS University won 2 and 1 match each leaving HITS win the Intercontinental Basketball Tournament.

Cricket Men's Team Secure 3rd Place - South Zone Inter University Tournament The Cricket Men's Team secured the 3rd place in the South Zone Inter University Tournament organized by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka from 13 to 24 January 2019.

International Yoga Day 2019
The International Yoga Day 2019 threw an alarm of being health conscious and maintain a balanced lifestyle amidst all hustles. Dr. V. Krishnamurthy, Founder, Krishnamurthy Yoga Foundation, Chennai presided over the function on 21 June 2019 and conducted practice sessions.
FIBA U- 18 Asian Championship
Ms. Dharshini Thirunavukkarasu, B.Com student took India to 2019 FIBA Under-19 and 2020 FIBA Under-18 Women's Asian Championship under Division A category. In a crucial match for qualifying, Dharshini showed surprising moves and extraordinary energy to clinch victory for India.
Way to Indian Cricket Team Squad M. Washington Sundar, 2nd year BBA represented Indian Cricket Team in all three T20 Series against West Indies in August 2019 and drew appreciation from all for his performance.
