The 9th Convocation was celebrated in grandeur on 15 September 2018, wherein 1229 graduands including 35 Ph.D., 3 M.Phil., 162 PG, 780 UG, and 249 UG Arts and Science received their degree. The event witnessed Prof. (Dr.) Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE as Chief Guest, and Mr. Lalit Gupta, Joint Director General, Office of the Director General of Civil Aviation; and Honorary Secretary General, Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) as Guest of Honour. Prof. (Dr.) Anil Sahasrabudhe in his address congratulated the graduands for receiving the degrees and remarked that it aptly fell on Engineer’s Day. He emphasized on the need of Creation, Assimilation, and Dissemination as main objectives of one's mind. Mr. Lalit Gupta was awarded with the honoris causa degree as an acknowledgment of his accomplishments and lifelong significant contribution to India’s competitive aviation sector. As a sign of growth and progression, saplings were planted by the honourable guests at Founder’s Block; and ALSIM AL 250, a state-of-art Simulator was also inaugurated.

Graduands in anticipation of receiving degrees
The Centre for Automotive Electronics, Department of Automobile Engineering, conducted its 2nd Graduation Ceremony for Advanced Diploma in Autotronics programme on 14 December 2018. Mr. Chidambar Garge, Head - Technical Training, Volkswagen Group Academy, Pune and Mr. Suresh Nagaraja, Chief Manager - Training, Volkswagen Group Academy, Pune presided over the ceremony as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. A total of 16 graduands were awarded their certificates on this Graduation Ceremony.

Executive Director, Kochi Refinery, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Ltd; presided over the function as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. 7 Ph.D. graduands were privileged to be awarded their degree at the event amidst the most celebrated guests. The most awaited talk of Dr. E. Sreedharan saw his expression of gratitude on being conferred with Honouris Causa. “All great achievements are not individual centric; but efforts of a team,” said Dr. Sreedharan who shared the respect of the honorary award with his team of Engineers, Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers and many more. If excelling as a technocrat with knowledge is appreciative, owning a true character would demand appreciation from all. “Crown and glory of life is Character” says Dr. Sreedharan. Dr. S.C. Sharma in his Special Convocation address said, “Technology or technological products are designed to make life easy and beautiful.” With novel inventions enabling humans consume less time, he insisted mankind to dedicate time to accomplish worthy things like involving in painting, dancing, writing etc. as they are the real signs of higher activities of life. Mr. Panickar recalled his fond memories of attending one of the public lectures of the Late Dr. K.C.G. Verghese, Founder, Hindustan Group of Institutions. Mr. Panickar was very much conscious of the uncertain implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Technology on the job prospects for the upcoming generation of engineering world and kindled learners to take such themes as case study.

The 8th Graduation Ceremony of Professional Diploma in Cyber Investigation and Laws (PDCIL) was held on 27 April 2019. A total of 9 students received their professional diploma graduation. The Chief Guest of the ceremony Mr. Arun Prakash M., Founder and CTO, GUVI, Chennai, in his keynote address on “Cyber Security – Today Needs,” emphasized the need of understanding the behavior of cyber users in India. The Guest of Honor Mr. Mugunthan Soundararajan, Sr. Vice President – Technology, Matrimony, Chennai, highlighted the key aspects of the cyber security and its importance. Certificates were given to the graduates for their successful completion of course. Ms. Sundari S. and Mr. Sundaram received First Rank in June 2018 and December 2018 respectively.
