Skyward Bound Biography of Chancellor Launched in Dubai

Skyward Bound is a compelling biography of Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor of Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), chronicling his visionary leadership and transformative contributions to education. Authored with deep insight and admiration, the book captures the Chancellor’s inspiring journeyfrom his formative years to his pivotal role in shaping Hindustan Group of Institutions into a globally recognized educational powerhouse. The book was officially launched in Dubai during a special event attended by dignitaries, celebrities, and well-wishers.
The release marked a moment of pride not only for the Hindustan family but also for the wider academic community, celebrating a leader whose influence transcends borders.
Boeing Campus Engagement Programme




The delegates from Boeing visited the Campus on 19 February 2025 and enlightened the students on the various aspects of the aviation industry. The programme was presided over by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor. A panel discussion on “Aviation Manufacturing & MRO - Workforce Development & Training” was organized. The panel members included representatives from both Boeing and HITS. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Narinder Gautama; Production Engineering Core Manager (Expat), Renton, WA USA and it dwelled on various key areas like the challenges facing the aviation manufacturing and MRO industries in terms of workforce development, the key elements of successful industry-academia partnerships in aviation manufacturing and MRO, and the ways to increase diversity and inclusion in the aviation industry, and the strategies adapted to be successful in other industries. Later, the officials from Boeing met with the University Representatives to discuss potential future collaborations between HITS and Boeing. This meeting was chaired by Dr. Ashok George Verghese, Pro Chancellor.

Presidential Citation

Ms. Sukhee Lee, Assistant Professor (Languages) and Advisor - International Affairs receives a Citation from the President of the Republic of Korea for her two decades of dedicated service in promoting Korean Language and Culture both in India and Korea. The Citation was presented on 21 April 2025 at a ceremonial event held at the Korean Consulate. Ms. Lee received the Citation from Mr. Kwang-Il Lee, Chairman of the South West Asia Council of PUAC and Chairman of the Delhi Korean Association; Mr. Je-Hyoing Lee, The Deputy Consul General; Je Woong Hwang a Consul of Korean Consulate General in Chennai; Mr. Hyun-Ju Kim, Deputy Chairman of the Delhi Korean Association.
Basketball Team Qualify for All India Inter University Basketball Championship

Basketball Men Tournament held at Christ University, Bengaluru between 1-5 November 2024. This historical win has enabled the team to qualify for the All India Inter University Basketball Championship after a gap of five years.

WORLD’S LIGHTEST SATELLITE A RECORDBREAKING INNOVATION

The “India Book of Records” and “Asia Book of Records” have certified Mr. M. Raveenraj of B. Tech. Aerospace Engineering for creating the lightest communication satellite. At the age of 19, he has developed a lightweight satellite weighing just 7.31 grams and measuring 18 mm × 33.3 mm and is built using a microcontroller, sensors, a LoRa communication module, a copper wire antenna, an ultra-thin lithium battery, and other components. It operates on the principle of weather forecasting and positioning through a communication System.
Best Project Award

Mr. M. Dhilip and Ms. A Kousalya of I - year MSc Mathematics received the Best Project Award for their project titled “Application of Mathematics in Water Rocket” at the TN State Maths Tech Innovation Summit 2025. The event was jointly organised by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) and Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) and was held on 14 February 2025.

The Team Ice Breakers from the Department of CSE secured the first place at the 24-hour Hackathon - Udhgam - a technical fest organised by Woxsen University, Hyderabad on 12 February 2025. The team comprising of Ms. Acsah Susan Mathew; Ms. Kanchana Krishna; Mr. Yogeshwar C. M; Mr. Tharun Raju, and Mr. Sachin Kumar, developed AI-powered Interview Agents that simulate real-time interviews, assess candidate responses, and streamline hiring workflows. This team also secured First Place at the IBM National Level Hackathon held in September 2024 at Yenepoya University in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
ICSSR FUNDED RESEARCH

Dr. Maneesh P., Assistant Professor from the Department of Economics, has been awarded a funded research project worth Rs. 12,00,000. The project is titled "Integration of Digital Technologies for Transforming Rural Occupational and Livelihood Diversification Strategies in South India." This project has been sanctioned under the ICSSRIndia Special Call for Vision Viksit Bharat@2047, Category A.
38th National Games

Ms. Talitha Mana Udhay proudly competed for the Tamil Nadu Women’s Basketball Team at the 38th National Games of India, held in Uttarakhand in 2025, and won the gold medal.

Mr. Arulselvan C (Team Leader), Mr. Adesh V, and Ms. Eswari G of I - year MBA clinched the Runners Trophy at Fiscalis 1.0, a business case crackathon organized by the Fintech Lab and Finance Club. They competed with 130 teams from IIT Madras, VIT, Sathyabama, and SRM Institutions. The Competition comprised of three intense rounds of complex business challenges and the team from HITS with the help of their analytical thinking, data-driven decisionmaking, and teamwork won laurels for the Institution.
AIU Gold Medal in Kick Boxing

Ms. S. Subashini, B.Sc Physical Education, has achieved an outstanding feat by winning the Gold Medal in the 56kg Low Kick category at the All India Inter-University Kickboxing Championship 2025, held in Meerut.

Aero India 2025
The 15th edition of Aero India 2025 was held on 10-14 February 2025 in Bengaluru. The event included ‘BRIDGE - Building Resilience through International Defence and Global Engagement,’ - Defence Ministers’ Conclave, CEOs’ Round-Table, iDEX start-up event, and a large trade fair. The Aero India 2025 was inaugurated by Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Minister for Defence. The team from HITS, represented by Dr. R. Asokan, Dean – School of Aeronautical Sciences; Mr. G. Dinesh Kumar, AP (SG); Dr. B. Anbarasu, AP (SG) and the students for the Departments of Aeronautical and Aerospace participated in the event. The team exhibited the drones and working satellite projects and the KCG Verghese Satellite was the key attraction at the booth. The team hosted more that 5000 students from schools and colleges.

FCCI Tamil Nadu Higher Education Summit 2025

Dr. Ashok George Verghese, Pro Chancellor – HITS and Convenor FCCI Tamil Nadu Education Panel attended the Summit on 17 April 2025 at Hotel Taj Coromandel, Chennai. The Pro Chancellor insisted on building a future ready workforce with a lifelong learning by providing a proper educational ecosystem as there are challenges ahead in the new world order. He also pointed out that as AI is redefining the future of technology and the system should be ready to base our higher education in tune with the emerging technologies. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Govi Chezhiaan, Minister for Higher Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. The other dignitaries to grace the event were Dr. GSK Velu, Chairman, FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council; Mr. Bhupesh Nagarajan, Co-Chairman, FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council; Dr. Anbu Thambi, Co-Convenor FCCI Tamil Nadu Education Panel; and Dr M Rajaram, a retired IAS officer. As the Convention Partner, HITS was represented by Dr. S. N. Sridhara, Vice Chancellor, Deans, Heads of the Departments and some of the staff members.
Planet Parade 2025 Star Gazing

The wonders of the celestial bodies were witnessed from the grounds of the Bay Range Campus. The staff and students along with the public had an opportunity to watch the alignment of the planets that were visible for the naked eyes. This three-day star gazing event was organised by the Nebula Astro Club on 6-9 February 2025. The celestial objects viewed were: Venus, Mars, Jupiter with its moons, and the Moon’s surface.

National Science Day
The National Science Day is commemorated every year on 28 February to mark the invention of the Raman Effect by Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928. HITS celebrated the Day on 27 February 2025 under the theme SDG Nexus 2025 – Innovation for Impact. The Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Sathyanarayana N Gummadi, Dean (Students) & Professor from Department of Biotechnology, IIT Madras.
The first-year students of B.Tech. participated in the project competitions under two categories: the CSE and Non-CSE Groups. A total of 85 teams participated in the competition and showcased their innovative ideas. The winners of the competition were presented with trophies, certificates and cash prizes.

International Civil Aviation Day
This day was commemorated on 27 January 2025 under the theme “Air Traffic Management and Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance.” The Chief Guest for the day was Shri V. Muruganandam, GM CNS, Chennai Airport. His speech focussed on the critical role of Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) in modern air traffic management. He also highlighted the integration of satellite-based navigation systems, air traffic control communication systems, and the future of automation in aviation. Shri Sudhir R. Menon, JT General Manager – Air Traffic Management, the Guest of Honour highlighted the innovations in air traffic control and the implementation of new ATM systems that are vital to managing increasing air traffic, reducing delays, and maintaining safety standards. The event was attended by the students of Aeronautical and Aviation.

International Industry Training

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science conducted the International Industry Training in Testing of Electronic Circuit Boards for the Vietnam Military Quality Engineers. The training programme was conducted by eHardware Innovative Test Technology Systems (eHITS), powered by QMAX between 25-29 November 2024.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day and Exhibition
The University, in association with the German Consulate organized the International Holocaust Day on 27 January 2025 at the Bay Range Campus. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Michaela Küchler, Consul General, German Consulate, Chennai. The guests of honour were Dr. Kathrin Misera-Lang, Consul General (Interim), German Consulate, Chennai and Mr. K. Megaraj, IAS (retd.) Former District Collector, Namakkal. The event commenced with the inauguration of the Holocaust exhibition that provided a powerful visual representation of Holocaust history and its lesson for humanity. Ms. Küchler in her address emphasized on the importance of remembering the Holocaust. Similarly, Dr. Lang pointed out the significance of historical reflection and the need to combat prejudice and hate in modern society. A German short-film titled “What is Holocaust” provided a poignant exploration of the historical tragedy.
Navyantra Research Expo 2025
A Research Expo titled NAVAYANTRA was organised by the Directorate of Research and Consultancy on 16 April 2025. The expo showcased the ongoing research activities by faculty, scholars, PG students and also the innovative products developed by the Undergraduate students. The objective of the expo was to provide an opportunity for all stakeholders, especially industry collaborators, government organisations and research laboratories, prospective students and parents to get to know about the cutting-edge projects being carried out at HITS. The Chief Guest for the Expo was Dr. P P Mathur, Former Vice Chancellor of KIIT University and Birla Global University. A total of 130 projects were showcased for public eye. The jury comprised of industrial experts from both government and private sectors. Also, Mr. Enid Verghese Jacob, Deputy Director visited the Expo and inspired the participants with his encouraging

words, motivating them to pursue their research endeavours with renewed enthusiasm. The Expo presented two awards under two categories. The Dr. T.A. Lourdusamy Innovation Award, sponsored by Ms. Premila Josephine, Senior ManagerProduct Development, Advanced Micro Devices, Singapore (ECE Alumni, Class of 1989), was presented to Mr. Janiel and Mr. Vasudevan and Mr. Surya Kumar M under the Best Senior Researcher – I and the Best Junior Researcher – I respectively. The HITS Award for the Best Senior Researcher – II was awarded to Mr. Ian Jason and Ms. Swathi Nalla and the Best Researcher Junior – II award was bagged by Ms. S. Bala Chandralekha and Mr. Balaji. The winners were presented with certificates and cash prizes worth Rs. 70k.
Literopia 2025



The Inter-college Literary Fest was organised by the Department of Languages on 7 March 2025. The Chief Guest was Ms. Viji Thiyagarajan, Director of Libraries, South Asia (British Council) who in her keynote address shared insights on the role of literature in shaping critical perspectives and fostering intellectual engagement during the inaugural ceremony. Also, the trailer release for the theatrical play ‘The Wizard of Oz’ was a treat to the eyes of the audience. Ms. Amanda Judith D’Silva (II Year, B.A. Psychology), Mr. Joshua Vian Cardoza (II Year, B.Tech Cybersecurity), and Mr. Ragesh provided an overview of the play, discussing its themes and relevance. Following the inaugural, various literary events such as: Quiz Wiz, Block and Tackle, Paper Presentation, Lit Feud, Poetry Recitation, Spell Quest, Shark Tank, Pictionary, Improv Role-play, Character Interview, and Cosplay. The Overall Championship Trophy was by Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science.

Gyan Disha 2025 Project Expo

The final year students showcased their projects for the public on 29 March 2025. The event was jointly organized by HITS Alumni Association (HITSAA), Hindustan Technology Business Incubator HTBI and the Office of the Student Affairs. The projects were displayed under two categories: 1) Industry Defined Projects (IDP) and 2) User Defined Projects (UDP) and was judged by distinguished panel of 20 alumni who hailed from diverse industries, government sectors, entrepreneurship backgrounds, and academia. The Projects were evaluated based on innovativeness, creativity, and the utility of the project for industry, academia, or society at large. A total of 180 projects were registered with a participation of 350 students. Around 25 projects were identified and selected for incubation followed by further funding and development through the Bay Range Innovation and Incubation Cell (BRIIC). The first three best projects from each department were selected as winners.

University Day Celebration 2025
The University Day 2025 was celebrated on 17 April 2025 at the Bay Range Campus. The Chief Guest was Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Founder & CEO ORBI2ANEXT Systems and Solution, Chennai and Alumnus (Mech 1992) and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Kamran Khan, Head India & Regional Director, South Asia Government of South Australia and Alumnus (Auto 2003). The event was also graced by Dr. Aby Sam, Executive Director; Dr. S. N. Sridhara, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Muthukumar Subramanian, Registrar; directors, deans, heads of departments, staff and students. The Vice Chancellor presented the Annual Report for the year 2024-25. In addition to this, students were presented with medals, certificates and cash prizes for their outstanding performance in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Hindustan Cultural Team entertained the audience with dance and light music performances.
Magnum Opus – Wizard of Oz
The Masquerade Theatre Club – a Unit of the Athena Literary Club staged their Magnum Opus of 2025 – The Wizard of Oz on 26 April 2025 at the Bay Range Campus. The play was jointly directed by Mr. Joshua Vian Cardoza II-year B. Tech CSE Cybersecurity, and Ms. Amanda Judith D’Silva of II-year B. A. Psychology and scripted by Mr. Ragesh Shyam of final year B. Tech. Aerospace. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were Ms. Janaka Pushpanathan, the Director of South India British Council and Mr. Micheal Muthu, Indian Director, Writer, Actor and Founder of the Boardwalks Theatre Company respectively. The Magnum Opus hosted a mixed audience of school and college students.


Innothon 2025
The event was organized by the Department of Computer Science in collaboration with Blue Screen Programming Club on 21-22 March 2025. INNOTHON 2025 was an inter-college hackathon competition. The Chief Guests for the inauguration were Mr. Blessingh Selvaraj Senior Manager at Iron Mountain Private Limited and Dr. Shilfa Nigar, Chief Dental Surgeon at Apollo Dental Clinics. The jury members for the competitions were Mrs. Madhumithaa Selvakumar, Operations Director at PearlTech Consultancy Private Limited and Mr. Ashish Cherian – A proud HITS alumnus and Principal Software Engineer at Saama. The event conducted competitions such as: HackQuest – Capture the Flag (CTF) using TryHackMe; AI Genesis – AI Ad Slogan Challenge; Code Arena – Error Identification and Debugging; Digital Divas – exclusive Poster Design by Women; IdeaFusion – Innovative Solution Presentation; Pixel Showdown – Multi-game tournament featuring Free Fire, BGMI, and PES. The winners received trophies and cash prizes.
Yarona 2025 The Interdepartmental Cultural Fest


The Interdepartmental extravaganza was held on 5 April 2025 at the Bay Range Campus. The Fest hosted more than 7000 audience. The Chief Guest was Mr. Kalidoss Jayaram, Film Actor and the Special Guest was Ms. Ritika Singh, Film Actress and Martial Arts Athele. The Light Music was rendered by Ms. Manasi G Kannan and Mr. Hariharan Santhosh, Playback Singers. DJ Goutham, renowned DJ in town entertained the audience with his music. The Overall Trophy was won by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The School of Planning Architecture and Design Excellence (SPADE)won the trophies for the Runner-up position, the Grand Ethnic Parade and also the Involvement which was awarded based on the higher number of participations. In addition to this, the mega showdown of fireworks was a treat to the audience.






GLOBAL WALKERS
Times Higher Education (THE) Asia Universities Summit 2025



Dr. Ashok George Verghese, Pro Chancellor, Dr. S. Usha, Associate Professor (SOM) and Head, Ranking and Dr. T. Sudalaimuthu, Coordinator-IQAC attended the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia Universities Summit 2025 held at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) between 22-24 April 2025. The three-day summit focused on Asia’s rising prominence as a hub for innovation in science, technology, society, and research, and examined strategies to further strengthen research cultures within the region. The visit to Macau by the team was a significant step towards engaging with global leaders, exploring collaborative research opportunities, and fostering potential partnerships with institutions across Asia and beyond. A highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Saint Joseph, Macau, on 24 April 2025. This landmark agreement aims to promote academic collaboration and student exchange programs between the two institutions. The MoU was signed in the esteemed presence of Dr. Ashok George Verghese, Vice President of HGI, and Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, Vice Rector of the University of Saint Joseph.

Ms. Priyamvata Madhavan and Ms. Gayathri Ganapathy of B.B.A. Aviation pursued their Semester Exchange Programme at Sejoung University, Korea between 2 September 2024 – 28 February 2025. The programme aimed at creating an engaging and intellectually stimulating environment. The courses offered were a blend of theory with practical applications which provided ample opportunities for research and collaboration.

on Road to Brisbane, Australia 2032
The Discussion was organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science on 5 October 2024. The panel discussion, focusing on the theme “Road to Brisbane 2032” and elevating India’s Olympic performance, was both insightful and forward-looking. Panelists discussed the need for improved sports infrastructure, early talent identification, and the psychological and physical preparation of athletes to compete on the world stage. The session highlighted the importance of grassroots initiatives and collaborative efforts to ensure India’s continued success in future Olympics.

34th Dr. K. C. G. Verghese Memorial Inter-Institutional Basketball Tournament
The Tournament was organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science between 22-24 February 2025. The finest teams from Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karnataka participated in the tournament. The inaugural ceremony was held on 22 February 2025. The Chief Guest for the tournament was the Queen of the Court Ms. Prachi Tehlan, Indian Actress, Former International Basketball and Netball Captain and the Special Guest was Dr. Regeena J. Murli, Founder and Chancellor of Jeppiaar University. The other dignitaries include: Mr. Jayasankar Menon, Former Captain, Indian Basketball Team & Asian All-Star (1997); Mr. Unni Nair (Squadron Leader), Director, Excel Adventure; and Mr. Balakrishnan, Secretary, Indian Basketball Players Association
The Panel Members included: Dr. G. S. Kisore, Principal and Regional Head, SAI LNCPE, Thiruvananthapuram; Dr. Samuel Pullinger, Head of Sports Science, ISW (Sports); Mr. Indranell Das, Sports Journalist; and Olympian P.R. Sreejesh and was moderated by Dr. Sumanth C. Raman, a well-known Television Anchor, Political Analyst, Author, and Sports Commentator. The members shared valuable perspectives on how to improve sports infrastructure, promote early talent identification, and provide athletes with the necessary resources to thrive globally.

IGNUS 2025 – the Annual Sports Meet

IGNUS 2025 - the A nnual Interdepartmental Sports Meet was held between 15 February - 2 April 2025. This year’s Inter-Departmental Sports Meet witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff members alike. A total of 10 Team Game Events and 10 Athletic Events for Men, and 8 Team Games and 9 Athletic Events for Women were conducted. In addition, four Mixed Events- Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, and 4 x 100m Relay - were newly introduced. In the student category, the Department of Biotechnology emerged as the Overall Champion and the School of Management clenched the Runners-Up Trophy. In the staff category, which featured 12 events (5 team games and 7 athletic events), the School of Management claimed the Overall Winners Trophy, followed by the Administration Department as Runners-Up. The valedictory ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries: Dr. Ashok George Verghese, Pro Chancellor, HITS Chief Guest: Thiru J. Rocktopia: The Indoor Rock-Climbing Facility
Rocktopia - a modern indoor rock-climbing facility was officially inaugurated on 2 April 2025 by Thiru J. Meghanatha Reddy, IAS, Member Secretary and CEO, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. The Facility offers an adventurous yet safe space for physical activity and recreation. it is designed for both beginners and experienced climbers, featuring varied climbing routes and safety mechanisms that ensure a secure and enjoyable experience. Open to all students and staff members, Rooftopia adds a new dimension to campus life at HITS. More than just a climbing wall, it stands as a symbol of aspiration, resilience, and the spirit of adventure.

Christmas Celebration 2024







Pongal Celebration
The Christmas Celebration of Hindustan Group of Institutions was held on 18 December 2024 at the Bay Range Campus, Padur, Chennai. The event was presided over by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor, HITS and Chairman, Hindustan Group of Institutions. The Chief Guest for the event was Rt. Rev. Dr. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa, Bishop of ChennaiBangalore Diocese, Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church. Ms. Michaela Kuchler, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Chennai was the Guest of Honour. The celebration witnessed carol performances by the choirs from HITS, K. C. G. College of Technology, Hindustan College of Arts and Science, and other institutions.

The harvest festival of Tamil Nadu was celebrated at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science was celebrated on 11 January 2025. The campus was vibrant with staff and students who participated wearing ethnic outfits. The day began with the assembly of around 2000 audience all decked-up in ethnic wear. The highlight of the celebration was the interdepartmental competition for Pongal preparation, where teams demonstrated their creativity and culinary skills in crafting the traditional dish. Traditional Pongal games, such as Uri Adi, slow cycling, tug of war, sack race, lemon and spoon race, bottle filling, and "Hit the Target," added an element of fun and competition. Complementing these activities were enchanting cultural performances, including Karakattam and Oyilattam, which showcased the rich artistic traditions of Tamil Nadu. The Guests for the event was Lt. Col. Ajay Balakrishnan, Officer Commanding and Camp Commandant of the 1 TN CTC NCC Chennai B Group, and Ar. Sowmiya Kaarthikh, an accomplished alumnus of HITS.





CELEBRATIONS
Founder’s Memorial Day
The 19th Founder’s Memorial Day was held on 14 February 2025. The event highlighted the values and the vision of our Founder (Late) Dr. K. C. G. Verghese. The Chancellor – HITS and Chairman – HGI, in his presidential address, highlighted the Founder’s legacy and urged the Hindustan fraternity to strive for excellence in order to fulfil the vision of the Founder. Mr. A.X. Alexander IPS, former DGP, delivered the Memorial Day address. He spoke on his fruitful association with the Founder. Mr. Subhash Mehtani, former Director, Ministry of Home Affairs, gave a special address highlighting the importance of dedication and public service.
As part of the memorial-day commemoration, the Dr. KCG Verghese Charitable Foundation extended its support to underprivileged students by donating 500 school bags to students from government schools in the villages adopted by HITS. The beneficiary villages include Kayaar, Illalur, Kelambakkam, Kunnapattu, and Thandalam. Additionally, the HITS Alumni Association contributed to environmental sustainability by donating 1,500 trees to the Hindustan Group of Institutions. These trees are planted across all campuses of HGI, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to green initiatives and community service.
Hostel Day
The Residential Students gathered to celebrate their homestay on campus on 8 February. They showcased their talents through dance, music, literary and fun events. Later that day, the students were entertained with DJ night and a sumptuous dinner.





International Women’s Day
The International Women’s Day was celebrated on 10 March 2025 at the Bay Range Campus. Based on the theme “Women Leaders as Catalyst for an Equitable World.” A Panel Discussion was organised to discuss the challenges and opportunities available for women in their professional front. The panellists included: Ms. Catherine, Frontline Leader, Boeing; Ms. Deena Jacob, General Manager –Corporate Communications, Renault Nissan and Alumnus – HITS (EEE 2000); Dr. Ashmita Boopathy Moturi, Founder and Director, NineO2 Detox and Alumnus (CSE 2003); and Ms. Vaishnavi Vignes Raja, Director, EQuad Engineering Services. The Discussion was moderated by Dr. Sanjanaa Jon, Film Maker, Social Activist, and International Fashion Designer.

76th Republic Day
The 76th Republic Day was commemorated on 26 January 2025. The Chief Guest was Commander Dr. V. P. Senthil, Recruitment Officer, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area, Chennai. The celebration was attended by the Institution’s Officials, staff and students.








OUTREACH
Blood Donation Camp

The Camp was organised by the NSS Cell in association with the Y’s Men Club of Chennai OMR & Hindustan Youth on 14 February 2025, in commemoration of the 19th Founder’s Memorial Day. It was inaugurated by Rtn. Shriram Duvvuri, DGN, RID 3233, Rtn. Dr. C.M. Kishore, and PWAF. Ysm. Prabha Dhanasekar, District Governor, Y’s Men International. A total of 1003 students registered, and 732 units of blood were collected. The donated blood was donated to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Institute of Child Health, Kilpauk Medical College, Chengalpattu Government Hospital, and the Indian Red Cross Society. The initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and save lives.

World Wild Life Day

The Rotaract Club of Hindustan University, in association with Arignar Anna Zoological Park, organized the World Wildlife Day on 2 March 2025 at the Vandalur Zoo. Over 50 students actively participated in creating awareness about wildlife preservation among the public. Various competitions were conducted for kids, engaging them in conservation efforts. A flash mob was performed to grab the public attention towards wildlife protection. The event concluded with a pledge to protect nature and biodiversity. The initiative successfully emphasized the importance of conserving wildlife for a sustainable future.
