Newsletter Messages for parents/carers A Level & GCSE Results Days Thank you to the Y11 and Y13 students responding to our survey on the collection of exam results in the summer. As you are aware, due to the current situation and social distancing restrictions in place we are unable to run results days as normal this year. A small number of pastoral, exam office and senior staff will be available in school to hand out results on Thursday 13 August (A Level) and Thursday 20 August (GCSE) to those requesting this. For students choosing to receive their results by email, we are aiming to send them all by 9am on the relevant results day. We will also provide details of how to contact the sixth form team to make an appointment if any additional support is required with University/Clearing or A Level option choices. Students who would like to come into school to get their results will be invited in small groups and given a specific time slot. We will be in touch with students and parents/carers nearer the time, to confirm arrangements.

School Transport Update If you have not already done so, please can all parents/carers complete the survey issued from Derbyshire County Council so they can look at what can realistically be done to get students to and from school in the new academic year. By completing this survey the council will be able to plan for a September return. The survey asks about how your children got from home to school before the coronavirus pandemic, and how you think they will get to school in September. It also asks how your children could be encouraged to walk, cycle or scoot to school. The survey can be accessed below and closes on 31 July 2020: https://wh1.snapsurveys.com/s.asp?k=159431407337 We are in regular contact with Derbyshire County Council’s School Transport department and will inform all parents/carers on what the transport arrangements will be for the new school year later in the summer.

Summer optional activities and challenges We have put together some optional activities and challenges for students to work on if they wish to over summer. There are some exciting things to do over the break with a huge range of interesting and unusual things to try. Hopefully there is something for everyone. The activities have been emailed home and will be available on the school website on Monday. There are ideas from many subjects to make each day a bit different.
