DC LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS In one of the cleverest movie ideas in years, the popularity of superheroes and pets has been combined into an eagerly anticipated animated film. The concept here is that Superman’s dog, Krypto, shares all the powers of his owner and forms a team of superpowered pets to save the world. It’s basically the Avengers on four legs – and with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart among the voice talent this one could earn superpowered box office takings.
TOP GUN: MAVERICK It’s 36 years since the original but Tom Cruise still feels the need for speed. He returns to his iconic role as ace fighter pilot Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. The sequel finds him training a new generation of daredevil flyers, including the son of Maverick’s late friend Goose, Bradley Bradshaw (played by Miles Teller).
