DC LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS

In one of the cleverest movie ideas in years, the popularity of superheroes and pets has been combined into an eagerly anticipated animated film. The concept here is that Superman’s dog, Krypto, shares all the powers of his owner and forms a team of superpowered pets to save the world. It’s basically the Avengers on four legs – and with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart among the voice talent this one could earn superpowered box office takings.

TOP GUN: MAVERICK

It’s 36 years since the original but Tom Cruise still feels the need for speed. He returns to his iconic role as ace fighter pilot Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. The sequel finds him training a new generation of daredevil flyers, including the son of Maverick’s late friend Goose, Bradley Bradshaw (played by Miles Teller).

JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION

The sixth entry in the smash hit Jurassic Park saga unites the main casts of the original and more recent parts of the franchise. So this time Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are teamed with Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. All that combined dinosaur catching experience will be needed as the storyline sees the creatures who were raised in a theme park now out in the wild, spread all the over the world and threatening to take over the planet.

ELVIS

Moviegoers are sure to be all shook up by this biopic from visionary director Baz Luhrmann. It’s the rags to riches story of Elvis Presley (newcomer Austin Butler) and the star’s relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker (played by Tom Hanks with a bald head). Can the King of Rock n’ Roll rule the box office like he ruled the pop charts?
