FIGHT FOR JUSTICE
An international battle for justice which has raged for many years is now headed to the screen. A docu-drama is in development in Hollywood about a family’s lengthy fight for compensation over their legacy being seized by Nazis.

The Jewish Tietz family owned major department stores in pre-war Germany, employing 25,000 people, until the Nazis forced expulsion of Jews from economic life there and the family fled overseas having been forced to transfer ownership to a non-Jewish owner. Now their descendants are claiming full restitution from the German government in a complex and ongoing legal case that has attracted Hollywood attention. The as yet untitled project is in a similar vein to the 2015 film Woman in Gold, which starred Helen Mirren in the true story of a Jewish woman trying to reclaim family possessions seized by the Nazis with the help of a crusading lawyer, played by Ryan Reynolds.
