MUSEUM oF MOVIE MAGIC HOLLYWOOD SPOTLIGHT

For nearly 20 years, L.A.’s Hollywood Museum has been a showcase for fascinating treasures, props and costumes from movie history. But the historic building is also a filming location itself, as moviemakers use its four floors of exhibition space as a backdrop for their own productions.

The latest production to shoot there is Tech to the Future, a documentary about futuristic innovations, which will incorporate the museum’s display of props from the Back to the Future films. Founder Donelle Dadigan will be featured in the film, which is hosted by futurist Francis Hellyer. Located in the historic building where make-up king Max Factor transformed Lucille Ball into a redhead and where Marilyn Monroe became a platinum blonde, there’s cosmetics history displayed there as well as memorabilia from movies and television, including the actual Hannibal Lecter jail cell set from The Silence of the Lambs.
