Safety WORKING WITH OIL
WARNING
Do not allow skin or eyes to come into contact with oil. Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.
It is not recommended to walk on machine surfaces not designated as walking areas.
Oils in this machine reach temperatures which may cause serious burns. Avoid contact with heated oil.
Do not walk on angled steel or irregularly shaped surfaces.
Wash oil from the skin immediately with soap and water. Wear protective hand cream to ease hand-washing.
Walking surfaces on the machine must be covered with anti-slip materials to provide a safe foot hold and prevent slipping.
Do not keep oily rags in clothing pockets. Change soiled clothing as soon as possible. Keep a spare set of coveralls at the work site (but not on board the machine).
Maintain these anti-slip surfaces on a regular basis. If the surface shows signs of wear, replace the anti-slip material immediately. • To reduce risk of fire, completely clear debris from the machine, particularly around the engine exhaust components. Eliminate hydraulic oil leaks, excess grease, fuel and oil accumulation (including spillage) immediately. Turn the engine OFF and remove the ignition key before cleaning the machine. • Maintain a clean cab interior, free of trash and other debris.
Seek immediate first aid for all cuts or abrasions, no matter how minor. Avoid oil fumes; service the machine in a well ventilated area. Wash hands and arms frequently, especially at meal breaks. Dispose of oily rags and gloves safely and responsibly. Read, understand, and follow all general safety precautions specified by attachment manufacturer.
• Wash the machine completely at every major service. • Inspect the machine daily for signs of damage or unusual wear to structures. • Check for fluid leaks or faulty operation. Repair or replace malfunctioning components and systems immediately. • Inspect windows for scratching, crazing, and cloudiness that may impair clear visibility around the machine. • Do not operate the machine with any defective or inoperable components. • Check all fluid levels. • Do not operate the machine with any of the exhaust system, safety covers, oil shields, or other devices removed.
• Keep a first aid kit in an easily accessible location on the machine at all times.
