SAW DRIVE

WARNING

Diesel fuel or hydraulic oil under pressure can penetrate the skin and cause serious personal injury, blindness, or death. If any oil is injected into the skin, it must be surgically removed within a few hours by a doctor familiar with treating this type of injury.

Do not use bare hands to search for fluid leaks. Fluid leaks under pressure may be invisible. When searching for leaks, wear heavy work gloves and use a wrench or piece of wood to move hydraulic hoses. Do not touch hydraulic hoses. Wear safety glasses and a face shield.

Safety

Keep hands, feet, limbs, head, hair, and clothing away from power-driven parts. Tie up and protect long hair under a cap or safety helmet. Remove rings and jewellery to prevent electrical shorts or dangerous catching on machine parts. Beware of machine pinch points that could cause injury. Do not place body parts within the range of motion of the working parts of the machine. Do not stand under an object supported with hydraulic pressure. Use safety stands or a mechanical locking device.

Clear the machine area of personnel before opening or closing power-operated doors or enclosures.

DANGER

Do not change any pressure or relief valve settings unless authorized by the Tigercat Engineering or Service Departments.

WARNING

Run the engine only in ventilated areas. Use an exhaust pipe extension/evacuation system to ventilate the work area to the outdoors if it is necessary to run an engine inside a building or enclosed space. Run the engine only when necessary for testing, diagnostics, or adjustments.

The explosive release of fluids from pressurized cooling systems can cause serious burns.

Turn off the engine and allow the radiator to cool to the point that it can be touched with bare hands before removing the cap. Slowly loosen the cap to the first stop. Allow pressure to release. When the hissing stops, press down on the cap and continue turning to remove.
