Park the machine in a cleared area at least 15 m (50 ft) away from other equipment or vehicles. This space acts a firebreak in the event of fire.
Lower the attachment firmly onto the ground before exiting the cab. If exiting the cab for an extended period, turn OFF the engine.

TRANSPORTING THE MACHINE
Before transporting the machine, secure it properly to the transporting vehicle. Obey all local traffic and road regulations and laws. Secure any tools or other loose items inside the cab or upper enclosure before transporting the machine. Verify that all doors, panels, and access covers are properly installed and secured. Improperly secured doors or panels pose a serious danger to pedestrians and other vehicles.
Plan the transportation route ahead of time. Check for sufficient clearance on both sides and above the machine or any attachments to avoid contact with power lines, bridges, and other structures.

Parking the Machine without an Attachment

Park the machine as follows:
1. Park the machine on level ground. Do not park on a slope or hillside. 2. Extend fully the stick boom cylinders. 3. Place the attachment or boom tip squarely and firmly upon the ground. 4. Apply the swing brake. 5. Turn OFF the engine. 6. Remove the ignition key.

B On Position (Switch Closed) 24863A R0 7. Turn OFF (open) the battery disconnect switch. Use the battery disconnect switch to turn OFF the engine in emergencies only. If the battery disconnect switch is used to turn OFF the engine, the engine electronic control unit logs a fault code to record improper shutting/powering down. Refer to AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM in SECTION 3.
Safety SERVICING AND REPAIR
1. Park the machine. Refer to PARKING THE
MACHINE in THIS SECTION. 2. Apply the swing brake. 3. Turn OFF the engine. 4. Remove the ignition key. 5. Turn OFF the battery disconnect switch. 6. Install any safety chains or locking parts required by the attachment manufacturer. • Do not place any part of your body in front of the saw guide (bar). Avoid the risk of dismemberment.
Keep clear to avoid personal injury or death. • Do not use this machine to clear a logging deck at a new job site while other equipment and operators are moving in. Plan to clear decks before other equipment arrives. • Never work alone. Regularly inform other crew members of your intentions, location, and length of time to perform duties.
