During speed range operation, apply the brakes with light and heavy pedal pressure. Check for noises or virbrations which may indicate the need for inspection or repair. The brake pedal action must not feel soft or continue to go down after heavy pedal pressure is applied.

Turn hand wheel fully r ght and left wh ile truck keeps "creeping". Listen for any unusual noises. As you turn the caster wheel from 43" to 47", he inner drive motor should turn off. The truck is then driven by the outer motor only. If inner ,mot.ordoesn't turn off, refer to GROUP 13, Se.ction6. NOTE Do steps 13 and 14 with no load and then with a capacity load.

13.. Raise a capacity load just high enough to clear the floor. Tilt the load fully backward and fully forward. Watch for any jerking or binding while tilting load. Tilt load fully back and watch upright rails at cylinder mounts. Make sure both cylinders bottom out at the same time. If one pulls in farther than the other, the upright will be twisted and adjustment is needed at tilt cyli,nder. Refer to GROUP 32, Section 1. Fig. 19438 14.

With upright tilted slightly back, raise a capacity load to maximum fork height (if overhead clearance allows) and then lower it. Watch for excess looseness or binding as upright goes up and down. In case of either problem, the upright rollers must be adjusted. Refer to Overhaul Manual OH-500, GROUP 34, Section 1.
