4. Press on horn button to check the horn operation.
5. Move tilt control lever slightly forward and backward, from the neutral position. The pump motor must run, if not, the micro switch needs adjustment. Refer to GROUP 13, Section 1.
6.. Check battery condition by holding tilt lever in back position so fluid bypasses for a few seconds. If the needle falls into the red zone, the battery is low and must be charged before completing the electrical part of P.M.
7. Pull the lift lever to the raised position, the pump motor should run. Push lever forward until upright starts to lower. Refer to GROUP 13, Section 1 for adjustment procedure. Fig. 84M476

8. Apply the parking brake and move the dir- ectional lever to the forward position.
The drive motors should not run. If they do, the micro switch on the parking brake linkage is misadjusted. Refer to GROUP 13,
Section 4 for adjustment procedure.
9. Release the parking brake and check "creep", acceleration and maximum speeds while driving truck in a straight line in both directions. Listen for any unusual noises.
All speed changes should be smooth while increasing and decreasing speed. Fig. 84M477
10. Check the accelerator operation while per- forming speed range tests. It must move down easily thru the entire acceleration stroke and return without binding. Fig. 19437
