13.With DaimlerChrysler OM502 LA (JAGUAR 900 –890):

Screw the air conditioner compressor to the engine.

In doing this, the hex head bolts must be fitted with a liquid thread sealing compound, e.g.

DELO-ML-5349, (Partno.0201801.1), and tightened down. When doing this, observe the relevant tightening torque –see page1.4.1, Tightening torques screws. (Fig.59)

14.With DaimlerChrysler OM457LA (JAGUAR 870–830):

Screw the sheet metal cover(A) in position. (Fig.60)

Removing the compressor

Remove refrigerant at the connections(D, pressure side) and(S, suction side) of the air conditioner hoses by suction. This should be done very slowly to prevent refrigerant oil from being extracted as well.

Caution!

The regulations of the unit manufacturer (air conditioner filling/extraction unit) must be observed.

With DaimlerChrysler OM457LA (JAGUAR 870–830): Unscrew protective sheet(A). (Fig.62)

Pull the cable plug off the cable(K) and remove the isolating cap(L). (Fig.63)

Unscrew the mass cable(M) and cable(K) from the compressor. Pull the cable(K) out of the protective sleeve. (Fig.64)

Unscrew the air conditioner hoses from the flange(S) on the compressor. (Fig.65)
