With DaimlerChrysler OM457LA (JAGUAR 870–830): Unscrew protective sheet(A). (Fig.40)
With DaimlerChrysler OM502 LA (JAGUAR 900 –890): Unscrew the air conditioner compressor from the engine and lay aside so that fitting work can be carried out in the area of the V-belt pulley.

The air conditioner hoses should not be released or bent over when doing this.

Turn on the ignition, but do not start the diesel engine. Switch the air conditioning on and set the fan switch to the first position. Unscrew the cover(B). (Fig.42)
