The conveyor motor is located on the left hand side of the machine, and is mounted directly to the conveyor reducer. This radial piston motor receives hydraulic fluid from the main valve bank’s first and second sections.

The piggyback gear pump is bolted to the rear of the open loop load sense pump. This pump supplies hydraulic fluid to the main pump and the conveyor motor for cooling purposes.

The open loop load sense pump is a part of the breaker power unit and is located on the right side of the machine. It supplies hydraulic fluid to all hydraulic functions on the machine.

The pressure filter is located on the left hand side of the machine near the operator’s station. This filter is used to filter fluid on the pressure side of the hydraulic circuit.

The primary valve bank, located on the left hand side of the machine directly above the crawler, is used to control the machine’s conveyor, tilt, lift, tram, and power fill functions. All sections of the valve bank are spring return (self centering) except for the power fill section which is detented.

The tram motors are located to the inside of each crawler assembly and are used to supply torque to the torque hubs for tramming operations. Each tram motor is individually controlled by separate sections of the primary valve bank.

The system pressure gauge is located at the primary operator’s station on the left side of the machine. This single gauge will display the system pressure for the active function.

The hydraulic oil tank is located on the left hand side of the machine and has a 110 gallon capacity. The hydraulic oil temperature and level is monitored by the PLC via a temperature probe and float switch. The tank is equipped with a sight glass and thermometer.

The frame tilt hydraulic cylinders are located at the end of the crawler under the hopper on each side of the machine and are used to adjust the discharge height of the machine. The cylinders are controlled by one section of the primary valve bank.

WARNING! The tilt and lift hydraulic cylinders have counterbalance cartridges which serve as load holding valves. Do not replace these cylinders with different style cylinders or the machine may fall. The machine could be damaged or you or other personnel could be seriously injured or killed by the falling machine.

The hydraulic power fill ball valve is located on the left hand of the machine. This valve must be opened before activating the power fill function on the valve bank.

The tank fill pump is a flow divider that is hosed to run backwards from normal flow divider operation. The pump is located on top of the hydraulic oil tank on the left side of the machine and is used to replenish oil supply. It is capable of delivering approximately 5 gallons of fluid per 30 seconds.

The return filter is located on the left hand side of the machine near the primary operator’s station. This filter is used to filter fluid on the return side of the hydraulic circuit and as the power fill filter.

The conveyor/tram engage valve is located behind the valve bank on the left side of the machine. The valve is used to disable the conveyor sections of the valve bank when the “TRAM/OFF/CONVEYOR” switch is in the “TRAM” position or to disable the tram, tilt and lift cylinder, and jet fill sections of the valve bank when the “TRAM/OFF/CONVEYOR” switch is in the “CONVEYOR” position. This is accomplished by dumping the hydraulic load sense signal from either the conveyor sections (tram only) or the other sections (conveyor only). Without the load sense signal, a valve bank section is disabled.

The frame lift hydraulic cylinders are located at the pivot point of the crawler on each side of the machine and are used to adjust the ground clearance of the machine. Each cylinder is individually controlled by separate sections of the valve bank.

The auxiliary valve bank, if equipped, is used to control the tailpiece tilt and steer cylinders and the roof and floor cylinders.

The Schroeder test mate port is used to connect a Schroeder test mate device to troubleshoot the hydraulic system.

The tilt and steering cylinders are used to position the tailpiece to correct for misalignment between the belt and the feeder breaker.

The roof and stab cylinders are used support and stabilize the feeder breaker while conveying of material.

WARNING! The tilt and lift hydraulic cylinders have counterbalance cartridges which serve as load holding valves. Do not replace these cylinders with different style cylinders or the machine may fall. The machine could be damaged or you or other personnel could be seriously injured or killed by the falling machine.

The machine is equipped with lock pins that should be installed when the unit is not being moved. Pin are located near the lift cylinders on both sides of the machine.
