OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Operation Regulating the travelling speed Travelling on level ground Regulate the travelling speed with Ü pedals (112 and 113, Fig. 2-71:) and Ü Switch (71, Fig. 5) to the right (slow gear) All forward/reverse travel movements are possible with this gear. Ü Switch (71) to the left (fast gear) The excavator can be driven only parallel forwards with the fast gear. The travel gearbox changes automatically into the 1st gear as soon as another travelling function (e.g. reversing, cornering) is initiated. Turn speed regulator (56 and 66) fully clockvice (full-throttled position)
Fig. 2-72:
Travelling uphill and downhill Change speed range only when the excavator is stationary. Read and observe the "Travelling Safety instructions" chapter. When travelling uphill or downhill, use the first speed range (slow range) only. Ü Switch (71, Fig. 5) to the right (slow gear) Ü Depress padals (112 and 113, Fig. 2-71:) fully to the limit stop. Ü Regulate the travel speed only with the engines speed control.
Fig. 2-71:
When travelling downhill, the travel retarder valve acts as a speed limiter. The travel retarder valve works correctly if pedals (112 and 113) are fully depressed down to the limit stop.
Should the travelling speed become too high when travelling downhill release pedals (112 and 113) to stop the excavator.
