WARNING

The machine has been especially designed for digging/loading works. Handling of loads after finishing the cycle of digging and/or loading work is allowed if the machine is equipped with the special option supplied and installed by CASE personnel. When handling loads, strictly follow national regulations with respect to safety, the rules listed herebelow and those described on chapter SAFETY RULES.

Boom antidrop valves located on cylinders, sound alarm, cab load chart and bucket holes ARE SAFETY DEVICES, belonging to the load handling option. If one of them is missing or damaged, the machine cannot be used for this purpose.

For handling loads, proceed as follows:

WARNING

Before starting to work check the valves for any noticeable damage or abnormal noise. If any, refer to your dealer and, in the meantime, do not use the machine for handling loads. Check if lifting devices (hooks, chains, etc.) are not excessively worn following the rules in force. These lifting devices are not supplied with the machine.

WARNING

To avoid accidents, do not exceed machine load rated capacity. If the machine is not on level ground, load capacities are reduced. Operate with care.

• If available, lower stabilizers or blade to the ground to increase machine stability.

• Set the suitable speed for the hydraulic effort required.

• Be informed (if unknown) as to the weight of the object to be handled and compare it with the data shown on the chart in the cab and on page 114. Do not lift loads higher than the maximum values shown on the chart.

• Before any lifting operation, press switch (1) to connect a tipping sensor. This sensor activates the sound alarm signal when reaching safety limit load.

• Fasten the load to the bucket using the special holes on bucket rear part (as shown).

Use hooking devices and chains suitable for the load to be lifted.

NOTE: use both holes to avoid uneven load distribution. Holes have been designed to work in conjunction, therefore the use of one single hole is not allowed.

WARNING

Check lifting means (hooks, chains, etc.) for integrity or excessive wear. Do that following the rules in force and be informed these means are not supplied with the machine.

• In order to increase load safety and stability, ropes and/or chains should have a length “L” higher than 600 mm between bucket hooking and connection ring (see picture aside).

• Do not sling a load with too long ropes and/or chains. This should be done to limit load swings.

• Check the working area and make sure the load run is free from obstacles.

• Lift the load slowly avoiding sudden motion that can cause load swing. As a principle keep the load close to the machine in order to increase stability and operate lengthwise rather than crosswise.

• Lift the load from the ground as little as possible.

WARNING

Loads can turn and swing in all directions. Therefore they might hit persons or machine cab. In order to limit this danger, keep people within machine safe area of operation and shift the load slowly. In case the load turns or swings during transport, slow down until you stop and slowly lower it to the ground. Then correct its hooking system.

NOTE: In case sound alarm is active during load handling, lower the load to the ground and check for load conditions with the help of the special chart in the cab.

• Lay the load to any position you wish but make sure it is firm and suitable for the load weight.

• Remove chains.
