DRIVE BELTS (Tension check)

DANGER

Do not run the engine in closed spaces without proper ventilation and/or an adequate system capable of removing noxious exhaust gases.

WARNING

Always ensure that engine hood is correctly locked in the open position. Danger of personal injuries. • Never place any part of the body near rotating belts or blades.

Be particularly careful near fans (alternator and radiator fan). • Do not check, nor adjust belt tension with the engine running.

Pay attention to and keep clear of fans and other moving parts.

CAUTION

The engine can reach high working temperatures. Before carrying out this operation, stop the machine and let it cool down. If service with hot engine is unavoidable, the body must be protected with suitable clothing and protections to avoid burns and personal injuries.

• Park the machine on a level surface. • Lower the bucket to the ground. • Switch off the auto-idle, fully turn the engine speed manual control anticlockwise, stop the engine, remove the starter key and move the safety lever into the locked position (LOCK). Wait until the machine is cold. • Open the engine hood and lock it in the raised position as detailed in the paragraph “HOOD AND

ACCESS COVERS” . • Visually check belt (1).

Replace belts if worn or not perfectly integral. For tension check or for belt replacement, refer to the

MAINTENANCE AFTER 250 HOURS OF

OPERATION in the paragraph “DRIVE BELTS” . • Close the hood.
