NOTE: A plug is installed on the drain cock to prevent introduction of dirt and as a protection against vandalism.
• Drain the tank of impurities (water and deposits) deposited on the tank bottom.
• To do this, remove the plug (1) from the drain cock (2) which is located under the upperstructure, at the tank. Slowly open the cock and let condensation and deposits drain into a a suitable container until only clean fuel comes out.
NOTE: When the temperature is above 0°C draining can be done before engine start-up. When working with temperatures below 0°C, the tank should be drained at the end of work, after engine shut-down, as water might freeze and not drain properly.
• After draining, close the cock and reinstall the plug.
Handle and dispose of the water mixed with fuel oil according to current legislation. Use only authorised disposal procedures. If in doubt, contact authorities concerned. 2
