Disassembly of the Shifter Housing

BP95F341 Use side cutters as shown to release the catch on the band which fastens the boot to the shifter housing. Remove and discard the band. A new band is included in the overhaul kit.

BP95F345 Remove and discard the snap ring from the shift lever. A new snap ring is included in the update kit.

STEP 366

BP95F342 Remove and discard the boot from the shifter housing. A new boot is included in the update kit.

STEP 364

BP95F349 Remove and discard the bushing from the shift lever. A new bushing is included in the update kit.

STEP 367

BP95F343 Remove and discard the two pins (one on either side of the shifter housing). Use a screwdriver to lift each pin as shown until you can reach the pin with your fingers. Then pull the pin out. New pins are included in the update kit. BP95F347 Remove and discard the spring. A new spring is included in the update kit.

BP95F346 Remove and discard the shift lever from the shifter housing. A new shift lever is included in the update kit.

STEP 369

Before starting to reassemble the shifter housing, make the following measurements on the shifter housing.

10 mm

NOTE: If any of the measurements are more than 0.5 mm less than those shown, the shifter housing has been modified and should be discarded. Assemble the new shifter parts into a new shifter housing purchased separately from NAPO.
