5. Never put your hand in the quick coupler or attempt to adjust or repair the quick coupler with the engine running.
Parking the machine When parking the machine, proceed as follows: 1. Position the machine on flat, level ground, away from soft ground, excavations or poorly shored cavities. 2. Place the upperstructure and the attachment in line with the undercarriage, retract the attachment and dig the bucket into the ground. 3. Stop the engine and remove the starter switch key. 4. You must place the gate lock lever in the central position (safety bar in inward position) before leaving the operator's compartment. 5. Lock the cab door. 6. Make sure that the hoods and doors are properly latched. 7. Check that no part of the machine is encroaching on the highway. If this cannot be avoided, install the necessary regulation signalling equipment.
Using the hydraulic breaker (optional) Before using the hydraulic breaker, refer to the operator's manual provided with the breaker.
Service and adjustment 1. Carefully read the information and instructions on safety in this manual and understand them completely before servicing on this machine. 2. When servicing the machine, wear appropriate work clothes. Do not wear baggy clothes. 3. Before removing any hydraulic line, completely bleed off the pressure within the hydraulic system. If pressurized hydraulic oil leaks out, it may cause serious injury. 4. Attach the "Operation Prohibited" label on the right side console before starting servicing on the machine. 5. When using any tool that may send metal powder flying, wear protective eyewear. When installing a pin, use a copper or other soft metal hammer. 6. Service defects and adjustment defects may lead to a serious accident. If you are unclear about the service procedures or adjustment procedures, consult your CASE CONSTRUCTION dealer. 7. If an attachment is raised or the machine moves while unmanned, this can cause a serious accident. Do the following work before servicing on this machine. 1. Stop the machine on flat, level ground. 2. Lower the attachment to the ground. 3. Stop the engine, then remove the key from the starter switch. 4. Lock the tracks so that the machine cannot move. 8. Unauthorized alterations to this machine may lead to a serious accident. Do not make any alterations whatsoever to this machine without first consulting your CASE CONSTRUCTION dealer. Changes made to this machine must comply with all current laws and regulations concerning safety and the technical specifications of this machine. 9. For designated components, type approval is required.
